Good L deal

Just got back from Ford Dealer. He wont let me do x-plan(havent been able to find one around houston that will take it). But he will give me $6500 for my 1996 Blazer that has 67,970 miles and has been in 2 wrecks. Do you think this is a good deal this is my first car that i am buying. If you know of a houston dealer that will do x-plan(the ones ppl have suggested so far wont do it) that would help alot. Thanks
On another note my other Beast is finished

It will be tough finding dealers to do X-plan this time of the season. I imagine in Texas it will be especially tough. Performance cars are like motorcycles - they have much greater price swings depending on the weather. I got my 02 on X-plan, but I bought it in Chicago in February the week after a snowstorm.

Good luck! Keep calling around. Be prepared to buy out of state. "Drive a little, save a LOT."

Another suggestion is to email all the dealers and ask... I found several dealers that said yes via email but just walking on the lot and asking a sales dude they said no. Even the place I bought my truck the sales guy said NO then I pulled out the email I printed out from his sales manager saying yes (still not 'wanting' to ) they decided to sell it to me on X.....I would not have bought it any other way!

Like said above drive a little (or fly) and save A LOT! 4g's off sticker will pay for a lot of gas and/or plane ticket.....

Good luck

Thumbs up

You may have to go out of state for X-plan. It's worth it. For me anyways. The 3-hour drive back from Knoxville, well, let's just say it wasn't 3-hours in the L.

Like I said, email till you find some place to sell to you under the X-plan... I think you will have better luck in the south than up north... also SVT dealers that are not in large citys tend to sell more 'plan' cars just so they can get the sale numbers.
Remember $4,000 (well, I think mine was like $3,667) off sticker will pay for a LOT of gas! not to mention a nice long drive home from the dealership would be a great way to break in your new L!!

Good luck!

Do yourself a favor, and keep looking for the right dealership. I searched and searched, and finally found one.

I finally got one from Mullinax Ford in Apopka, FL. Got it for $27,290 before tax, title, and license.

They were all stickered $33,815. Worth the wait as far as I am concerned!

A guy from our TALON group just bought one from Bill Utter Ford (Denton, TX) on X-plan. Same place I bought mine for sticker 3 years ago.
