Pulled my tranny all by MYSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!
The guy in the garage at the plant whose job it is to R&R the road test units can do one in about 45 minutes, one out and another back in. I'm in awe. Amazing what doing 2 a day for 13 years will do for your skills, ain't it?

One out and one in, in about 45 minutes. That's flying, but with 13 years in the bussiness I am sure he knows every short cut and then some.
Joe,
4 hours just to take it out, what did you do fall asleep under there? Just busting your *****, that is great that you got it out and it will be running again soon. Good luck with it, get it all fixed and join the 11 second club already, will ya....

well figure it this way, you have to jack up the truck really really high in the air, unbolt the drive shaft and with the lock tite I used it took some time to do. Take off the exhaust midpipes and cats for more room, drain the tranny fluid, unbolt the passenger side header and take out the starter. Then unbolt the tranny crossmember and heat sheilds. Unbolt the converter and unplug the tranny stuff and move the wire harness out of the way. Get your tranny jack pan under the tranny and strap her in. unbolt it and pull her out and lower her at the same time with limited space on jack stands. its not as easy as its sounds by yourself with a 200LB + Pig tranny to remove.
I'm hoping to have her going next week if I get some help puttng it back in on sunday.
we'll see what happens.

Joe,
Like I said I was just busting your *****, it sounds like you made real good time with what you had to work with and by being by yourself.
It almost always takes longer to put something in and together than it does to take it apart, so if you can do the install in four hours or less than my hat is off to you. Good luck with it Joe and I hope to meet you some day.....

there's a guy on my softball team that I'm going to have help me, and if all else fails I'll have to ask my brother. He's not a car guy at all, so that scares me!
