I cashed out. . .

It's official-
My white '99 L #1558 is SOLD.

I am no longer the owner of this wonderful vehicle. My best wishes go out to the next owner- as this baby certainly gave me more pleasure than any other vehicle that I've ever owned.

But, having said that, it also gave me more headaches than any other, too. The dealership/repair FIASCO's, the extremely high maintenance/fuel co$ts, the long lead times when ordering even the most basic parts, and the fear that too much modification would kill it's re-sale value all finally added up and got to me.

But not to worry- I bleed Ford Blue. I am now the proud owner of a nice, shiny, brand new True Blue '02 F150. I've been working with some associates lately at the local road course and stumbled upon a formula for modifiying a 'regular' F150's suspension (can't do it to an L though, sorry) that quite frankly ROCKS. I guess I got tired of paying the big bucks for this L and having these 'regular' F-150's with their V6's /small V8's getting in my face at the track while all I did was blister the tires out of the turns. It's hard to make these things handle with that big S/C 5.4L engine plopped right over the front wheels.

I'll still be around, and may still post in the Lightning boards.

It's been real- and you guy's are definetely the classiest group of enthusiasts going. . .best wishes to you all. . .

Question

It's hard to make these things handle with that big S/C 5.4L engine plopped right over the front wheels.

I read somewhere that "90% of the eng. is behind the front axle 'line'."

Anyway, hang around and feel welcome with your new truck .

Still have'nt got the endlinks on since Im still waiting for them. I know the next owner will love the L since it seemed you took great care of her. Talk to ya later man.

BTW, hot enough for you down there?

Jay,

Good luck in whatever you do. You've been a big help to me and I appreciate it very much. You don't have to be a stranger because you sold the Lightning.

Your bud,

Tim
