Why don't they just tell you the truth ?
that whole "they have a life too" thing is crap! if they have other things to do to have a "life", then maybe they are in the wrong business. maybe they should work for someone else so they dont have to worry about costomers. and the words "too busy" shouldnt be in a business owners vocabulary. if they really feel as though they are too busy, then they should turn the work away.
this post is in no way directed twards any one person. i just feel they need to be honest with everyone. if u cant do something, then you cant do it. its as simple as that. i would feel more comfortable going back to someone who referred me elsewhere instead of lying.

FWIW, I think all vendors owe it to their customers to give an honest answer about availability and delivery date. If you don't have something in stock, don't try to make the sale then ends up pissing off the customer by not delivering. I think most Lightning tuners are pretty good with this.
So far, I've worked with four different tuners and they all delivered promptly except for one occassion where the tuner's supplier was late in delivery. This is expected with small businesses/custom shops so it was fine with me once I was given a new shipping date. No problem there.
As for you guys who seems to think businesses should devote 24/7 answering to their every little whim, you really needs to get a grip or you should setup your own custom shop and hire a full-time crew on standby. For the vendors and everyone else who knows how hard it is to run a business, here's something for you:
"Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to our own family... an unwise investment indeed, don't you think?"
Put in 100% when you are working, but know when the working hours ends and family hours begins.

I haven't had a problem with a tuner, but rather a "specialty shop". I have been trying to obtain a dash kit for my truck for about 3 months. After waiting to see a sample, I just picked one and ordered blindly. After waiting for two weeks I find out the girl I spoke to had quit, and had never even placed my order. That was about a month ago, I'm still waiting, and no one can tell me whats going on. Apparently they arent in business to make money. I'm sure I can find another use for my $300

It's not one person in particular. I'd say it's more of an S.O.P. problem.
I really think they tell you its coming every time you call is so you won't go to another tuner and get their similar product.We order from them because we here good things about them so tell us the truth if its in stock .Let us make the choice and maybe we will wait for they item to come in and buy it.The whole thing here is they told me twice they were sorry they would send it out tomorrow[5 weeks later nothing].They were sending me nothing lets face it just trying to shut me up until they decide to send it BS.I order something tell me whats going on no lies/BS. Hey Jimmy, I'm pretty sure it's us you have to filter kit on order from, and if so, I apologize for the delay. Give me a call Monday and I'll have Lisa check the orders, because we have filter kit parts in stock and I should be able to get that right out for you. Just give us a ring and I'll take care of it.

Stop your whining/complaining and go see the tuner. You are within driving distance of both Sal and JDM so TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT DUDE, not even that long of a drive compared to what alot of people drive to see them. So go visit your tuner, if they have the stuff in stock then pick it up, if not hang out. Garaunteed(sp?) you will have great time and learn alot by hanging out from the chosen tuner.

The captain does have some good advice.
If your within driving distance, GO THERE and meet them in person. You a step ahead of the ones (like ME) who cant get to a tuner(s) shop because of the distance involved. A Custom tune is the best tune.
Quit reading this board and get your butt to the tuner.

Isn't it strange that with all the lost orders, unshipped parts, and
overcharged credit cards, that maybe some tuners would use a
COMPUTERIZED system to track inventory and bills ???

Iam not whining/complaining ,all i did was do the right thing and called like any other member would of.When you get an answer on the phone twice like i did its like great its finally coming.but it dosent come in mail at all.I want to buy from this tuner ,i heard nothing but good things about him,I have talked to him in May ,a great person to talk too knows his stuff.He took time to give me info and i thank you . Hey Jimmy, I just checked your order, and it was shipped out last week as promised. I would think you should probably get it today if you haven't already, being that you're not even 60 miles from here.
Man, don't take this as a flame, cause it is not, but if I lived 60 miles from ANY tuner, I'd be driving there in a heartbeat, saving on shipping, and having it installed by the man himself.
This is more of a "Damn,you're lucky to be so close to a tuner" statement than flaming u..............I think you have every right to wonder, and be potentially upset..............
