Harley Davidson F150

Hey does anyone remeber the thread that had all the differences between the HD F150 and a Gen 2 L. My parents are thinking about the HD and wanted to know the differences so we can mod it later, lol.

Thanks in advance.

Eric

Just do a search in the L forum for Harley F150 and you should find tons. If not go over to the HD board and try. Off the top of my head the lower pully's are different, longer exhaust on HD, different programmed chip, 2 piece steel driveshaft on HD, 1 piece aluminum on L, 2 lbs less boost on HD cuz pully, smaller lower air dam on HD = less air, and a few other things, but you can gain back the HP (340 on stock HD, and run low 14's stock) Hope that helped some

It is the blower pulley that is different ,not the lower. The Blower or upper pulley is larger causing a 2# decrease in boost from 8 lbs. to 6 lbs.Nothing any L tuner can not make up and more.
Also it is a different program not chip.
No flame.Just want him to have the facts.

The HD computer, though the code is different, offers the same performance/parameters as the L. The only difference in the programming is for AC timing and shift points. Spoke w/Ford Engineer on this one. So you could increase boost by as much a 4-5lbs without an aftermarket chip.

Sorry guys, I didn't even realize that i typed that in there. I just wrote it real quick so i didn't catch it. I guess w/ all the talk about changing lower pulley's it slipped in there. I knew the upper was different. Sorry about that again, i guess i'll have to start proof reading my messages again even when i'm in a hurry, thanks for catching that VINNIE.

Didn't know he was refering to the DSG in the pic. I know that's dsg, never heard anyone call it silver so I figured he was talking about the '03 silver & black 2 tone.
