What spark plug for this application?

Currently, I have just a Superchip, two pund pulley, and a drop in K+N filter - I plan to add an open filter soon. My question is what plug should I run with these modifications - NGK Tr6's, Splitfires? I have seen a few posts where the Splitfires seem to help the most, but I wanted everyones opinion before I make a move.

Thank's for your help.

I would go with the NGK and stay away from the Splitfires.

I have had great luck with the NGK's.

What's the difference between the TR6's and the TR5's? Which would better suit me?

Hey Phil, I have the NGK TR-5's in mine and they area fine.
Just pulled number 1 and 5 and looked them over real good and
everything looks great. The 6's are colder.
Where you been? I haven't seen you at 42 yet this year.

The TR6s are colder, and more likely to foul out if you aren't putting a lot of boost to them. The TR5s are best for your application... or Densos, better by all testing, plus the IT20s would work well for you. I went with the IT22s (higher numbers equal colder plug, colder plug equals less chance of detonation under higher boost/compression) for my 5# pulley. So far they are working out very nicely.

Thanks Marc. I have been to 42 twice this year. It seems that when the weather is nice, I always have something else going on. I went last Friday night, but it was very warm. My best run was a 13.50 @ 102. The weather cooled off later that night, but still could not run any better. I am not sure what is going on, but I figured maybe new plugs and fuel filter would help some.

Sounds good to me.

Is this the number that I ask for at the auto parts store:
a TR55-1-X ???

They don't list a plain NGK TR5.

Where can I order these plugs??? How do you all get them? The parts store wants me to come in person, and order them - a week to two week delievery time

Here is what one on-line parts store lists:
NGK TR5 Spark Plugs, Stock heat range, gapped at .035 $1.95

NGK TR55 Spark Plugs, Stock heat range, gapped at .050 $1.95

NGK TR55-IX Iridium Spark Plugs, Stock heat range, gapped at .050

Notice how the NGK TR55IX is Iridium?? which is best?????
