What is a Wrecked 02 Lightning worth??

That is my question to you guys....

I got the truck on a decent deal I think. I just wanted to know how much you all think its worth. I have $4500 in parts that were needed to fix it. You wont be able to tell its been wrecked body wise, but you will be able to see its been painted. I got the parts ona deal so that is not Retail of what it would cost someone to fix the truck. I will give you alittle info on it....

2002 True Blue - 42 Miles on OD now.
Was hit in the back, around $8000 total est. repair retail.

Now if you were in the market for a wrecked truck what would you pay for one like that? And would you buy a wrecked truck that had been fixed right? I am not looking to sell it, I just want to see what you think of the deal I got. Once some opinions are placed I will say what I got it for and what it is costing me to make it right. I have had to offers for the truck fixed already higher than what I have in it.....

I would say that after it's fixed, a good turn key price would be around 22K. Is it a salvage title, or just a damage disclosed one?

22 is what i would want to pay, but you could probably retail it for 24K.

I'd pay 17 and no more. a wrecked truck will never be the same no matter who did the work.

I'm going to have to go with whitetoast and say mid to high teens. No disrespect jefflaws but I would not pay 22k-24k for a wrecked vehicle regardless of how straight it looked.

You may not take my opinion seriously because im only 15 but ill still give it.
If I were in the market for an L I would not even consider a wrecked then fixed one. Just like what toast and slug said, it will never be the same. But, I would consider a wrecked/not fixed one. Maybe its just me but I would never drive a car that was wrecked then fixed without me overseeing the fixing process. Funny that your bring this up because im currently looking at a wrecked cobra to fix up. I would feel that the car is mine once its fixed because I would have put tons of hours, a lot thought, and a lot of my personal touches on it. Anyway, heres one i came across that looks like a good canidate(sp?)

It really depends if it was totaled or not. If you have a salvage title, knock $10 off the price than if it was a regular title.

Well It was never a salvage title, it was something I ran across and scooped up quick. My buddy told me about it and the dealer that had it wanted to get rid of it.

I can tell you this... Looking at the 02's on the lots makes me alittle sick. Some around here look like crap. The bumpers are way off and the paint & exhaust looks bad. I dont think anyone will be able to tell this truck has been hit. The only thing that was fixed & not replaced is the frame that was damaged. It is in the specs totally now and I have drove it with the Bed off. It drives right and I know I will love it. Everything body wise that was messed up was replaced. The Bed was the only thing damaged. The cab and front of the truck was like new, not a scratch on it. I could have had a new bed painted True Blue and it would have looked 100% new. The guy fixing it for me does total restorations and major repairs to wrecks. I got the truck cheaper than most of you said you would pay for one so that makes me feel good. Once its back together I will have about $11K less than new sticker price for one and that is totally custom painted....

Richard, good for you I hope It all work out ,A good body man is hard to find. But they exiest. I be willing to be that some of the L's that have been sold as new have had as much or more damage as the one you bought.Damaged in trucking or what ever! Fixed and sold as new and no one ever new about it.In most states the dealer doesn't have to say anything.I have seen my fair share of this happen in my years as a tech in some high line dealers.
