this is why I'd never have a Lightning:

That would really be a sweet ride. If you could find a way to drop the L motor inside a CV with the LX Sport package you'd have a real winner.
I almost X-planned an 02 LX-S Vic. They are nice. I just wanted a bit more "oomph" (and to see over traffic).
I plan to keep my L until its a rusted out rattly old truck. I want people to look at it with the big 15 year old Kenne Bell blower sticking out of the hood and the 50 gallon aux fuel tank in the bed, and say "Its the last of the V8 Interceptors!"
... or something like that.

Yup... even though its 48hp less than a Panther, and also $15,000 less pricewise, Mercury Marauder will be a hit for sure!
I've seen a lot of interest in it from the people that I hang out with so I mean its definitely gonna be something.... that 4.6L V8 DOHC better make it into the Crown Vic too, we're tired of the puny SOHC version! LOL

No puny high-revving DOHC 4.6L for me. I want torque in my American sled. If it's blown - better! The whole point is instant power, not a Honda-like rev-and-wait-for-it powerband. I want GRUUUUUUNT!
Besides, IMHO, the Marauder is fugly and $10k overpriced. Try again, Ford. Think "hot rod Lincoln".
ymmv, natch'.

hey snoopy you're too funny! LOL
purhaps you'd like Eric's Crown Vic Galaxie, hehe 6.8L V10 Crown Vic out in Arizona (he was an L owner so I'd assume he probably was posting here, I don't know his screen name on this board though)

or you can just wait for Kenny Brown to get their hands on the "Fugly" Marauder as you call it, heheh, considering they add 120hp to the stock Crown Vic engine (original 230hp -> supercharged 350hp) they could very well turn the overpriced POS (as you call it again) into a monster grandpa mobile with 400hp+ heheh!
I'm looking forward to all that stuff that I can in no way afford! LOL I'll keep you posted...

I am friends with the local Constable and he has ordered a Cobra Crown Vic. It is gonna have a Cobra engine in it. Just think what it would be like if they put an '03 Cobra engine in it instead of the older model. A crown vic with 390hp without bolt-ons!!! That is one mean ploice cruiser.
I wonder how he managed to do that?
Did he order it from Roush???
AS far as I know (and I try to stay on top of this) Cobra Vic is only offered in the Middle East... there were pictures on the Vic board from a showroom in some Saudi country with the beige cobra complete with 20 inch rims and Cobra badges all over... as well as the Cobra engine in the description...
The only Cobra Vic in the US is the one that is made by Roush exclusively for Bondurant racing school...
Please let me know when your friend gets this car, its very interesting!
