Question Goodmark Hood Prices

Does anyone have a line on who has the best price on the Goodmark hoods? I like the ram air one for the F-150 (I think it is the only one for it) with the Mustang scoop added. I did find one listing that offered a choice of scoops. The Mustang GT or the 35th Anniversary. Does anyone know what the difference is? I can take a look at some local GT's but I don't know where to see a 35th Annv.

I tried a search, but couldn't find much on pricing.

Thanks,
Mike

I used to drive right by their shop going to my old job. I didn't know they did ford hoods. I didn't do much research, but I think I say one ad that mentioned only chevy. Also I saw several chevys there sometimes. If i had known they did F-150 Ram Air I would have looked more closely. wouldn't have to ship it and might get them to install it. I decided to go with AAD hood. I love it but it's not Ram Air. I'm looking at making it Ram Air. Body shop guy says it wouldn't be too hard; cut air box, cut hood to match, knock out front snouts and there you go. Just haven't done it yet.

Where can I find more info on thier hoods besides stopping by.

It's a great looking hood, very subtle. Only problem is, it's pretty expensive, about $500, and it's a steel hood... Personally, I don't want to add that much weight to the nose of my truck, for that subtle of a difference.

I agree about the weight, but I'm not looking to shave .001 off my ET. The stock aluminum (sp) is 22# I believe. The American Auto Design (AAD) is Fiberglass and weighs 44# I believe. I think steel weighs the same (40 - 45#)

thats the same price and weight as most other hoods, and 20 pounds isn't going to make that much of a difference. If your that worried about it, buy a plastic seat for racing.

Good point, didn't think about the fact that we're only talking 20lbs... But you'll want new hood struts, too...

Looks good, but what about underhood clearance for the blower?

I didn't put any on with my AAD. Proably should have, but no problems yet. Seems to go up and down just fine. If it crashes on me one day then time to change the struts; or carry a stick.

good point

also interested in the goomark hood. It is the same style as the 35th anniversary mustang. i got a quote of 450 plus 40-50 freight. I think it would look awesome on my red truck. Not ready to dump that much money on a hood yet though.

I have done a little searching on the web and found that Autobahn Wholesale Inc. (www.zmotive.com) has this hood for $404. Maybe that will be about the best price I will ever find for it. In the latest issue of Sport Truck, stylinconcepts.com has a small picture of the Goodmark Ford hood with what looks like the 35th Annv. Mustang scoop. After doing some looking, I think that the GT scoop is the same width but slightly taller and the front vertical edges are straight (on a laid back angle) instead of being curved (what the 35 Annv. scoop appears to look like). The GT scoop will appear to have a little more aggressive look to it.

The Cobra style hoods are sharp, but not my style. I really like the shaker hood, but that will be about $350+ more for it. I guess if you want the looks (IMHO), you have to pay for it

If anyone happens to come across a good deal on this hood (or if someone wants to get rid of their shaker hood cheap ), go ahead and reply.

Thanks,
Mike
