Has anyone ever regretted doing the console conversion?

I want to do it but I know once I do it I cant go back without buying a whole new seat. Have you ever wished you havent done it? Maybe you dont like the look, the feel, or dont like not being able to carry that extra person? If you bought a new lightning, would you do it again? Also, for those of you that thought about doing it but didnt, why didnt you?

thanks

Yes me. Im regretting that i didnt do it sooner hehe . But now im regretting telling people who i got to do it because to many people are getting it done j/k. But really i got some more plans for the console to make it more unique since alot of people seem to be doing that mod.

Hey vin, you should see the vinel I have for my concole when I get it. Its almost a perfect match to the black crossed vinel in our trucks now. Looks sweet!

No regrets here. Should have come from the factory that way, IMHO...

Go For it

My last two trucks had buckets with center consoles so that is what I was used to.I actually took the seats and console from my CHEVY truck and put it in my G.M.C because it had a bench seat. This is not a new mod for me.

I don't have a L, but I did it to my supercab. The only thing I regret is not getting the console out of an eddie bauer. It has a spot at the top of the console where I think the compter screen went. I would like to have that to put a stereo EQ in. I bet it would look great with some gauges in it though.

Hey J, I'm still debating on doing it. I would like to only have two seats, but for me, it has many draw backs. For instance, I won't be able to have my girlfriend sit next to me as we cruise sunset. Having a bench seat has MULTIPLE functions other than using it as a seat Also, even though it's pretty rare now that I carry more than 1 other person, the time might come that I'll need to carry a third person. And I won't be able to do that. I've been looking into various aftermarket seats, and after seeing a few seats, it has come down to, Viper Seats, Porsche seats, or Vette Seats. Or, if you have the money, seats from an M5.

Using aftermarket means if you don't like it, you can change it back with no problems. And this is the route I will be going. Eventually.

I am sure if I decide to go back( I never would) that a used(or new) passenger seat is cheaper then a viper, vette or porsche seat.
You can even trade your cut seat and consloe with another L owner for there uncut seat.
Also I could sell my cut seat and console to defer the cost. The possibilities are there.
Just go for it.So far not one person has regetted it.

All these Vinnie's, I'm getting confused!

Vinnie, thanks for the ideas about trading, or even selling to make the cost less. That thought didn't even occur to me. I think I might have to do this console mod after all! Thanks bud.

Hey, Vin (with the BLack L), if you ever get tired of the ugly Boyds, and want to trade back to Fords awesome stock 18" wheels, feel free to shoot me an e-mail. I'll take em' off your hands..
