I definately recommend you do it.

Take it to an SVT CERTIFIED DEALERSHIP, though.

Should be a 1 day affair. You will notice the difference.

Agreed, a must do and you should notice a little power inscrease. Mine was left over night but only took less than a day. Excellent work by SVT dealer.

Talking

I had mine done in my garage at home...by a certified Ford tech. I took it apart, and he came up one evening with the new cooler and did the install. Worked out pretty sweet - took about three hours total, and I signed the ticket for him to get paid through Ford, and I didn't have to worry about leaving the truck at the dealership.
It pays to have friends in certain areas of expertise!

BTW - this tech is the reason I started looking at L's in the first place, and he knows how obsessive I am with any vehicle I own.

Later,
Steve

No problems. At dealer 1/2 day. Picked up a few HP.

It appears to be pretty straightforward, so as long as the tech isn't completely incompetent you shouldn't have any problems.

I had mine done (My truck did not have an intercooler leak but I got a recall notice from SVT) last November. Only took one day, but....last month the new one developed a leak and I had to have it replaced again. Made me wonder whether it was actually replaced the first time! There does seem to be a very slight increase in power but it may just be wishful thinking.

I had mine done last week on my '99 (17k miles). It should take a half-day, plus you get a loaner. I had no issues with the old one, but got it done before my original warranty ran out (had the clunk dealt with and new rubber trim for the rear window replaced).

Definitely get it done!

Oh. Also, ...

I had not needed to take my '99 in before, so I called around to all of the "SVT" dealers in my area. From the responses from the service guys, I whittled it down to 2 dealers. One was very close to me, so I went by and talked to the service advisor and SVT tech to get an eyeball check with them. Felt very good about them and was very satisfied with their work.
