Tell your story....
I don't have many races... but I've only had the truck for 2 months.
There was one time I was behind these 2 chevy c/k's. They were both lowered with murals painted on the tailgates. One was of a crying girl with an ocean behind her, and a guy in a big hat, and the other was a painting of some sort of low riding lincoln, or something... hah. Anyway, they both had loud exhaust, and were revving. Both had stereos that bumped, but were turned respectibly quiet.
Guy on the right had air shocks, or something. I heard a "sssssshhhhhhh", and the bed was suddenly about 6 inches lower than the cab... then the other guy did the same thing! Who would have thought? I didn't know whether to laugh, or what. The girl in my passanger seat said "are they going to race?" ... I had no idea what they were about to do...
So the light turns green, and they both took off at what seemed the slowest speed I could... and they were just looking at each other. Like they were having a "cruising" contest.
I turned off at the first street I could... didn't want them to see me laughing.

The sound you heared was their air bags, its a popular mod now. It enables you to raise or lower the front or rear of your car/truck by filling or emptying the bags. It is controlled by switches in your cab.
Hey great stories so far guys!!! Keep them coming!! Seems most the people in this forum have had their chance with a Z06. I like the results so far...Has anyone been really beaten that they would like to tell us about(by anything)? Like to hear both sides, but keep the "kill" stories coming!

Here's another good one for you - this one just happened about a week ago.
A friend of mine just traded in a nice, older Kawasaki Ninja (I believe it was a 600), for a new Honda Interceptor. The Interceptor is a pretty respectable bike, 800cc, 11.5:1 compression, and less than 500lbs.
So, he's sitting there, bragging about how fast his new bike is. So, we go out driving, until we find a nice red light that we can line up at. We finally get caught at a red light after about 15 minutes of driving. I'm expecting a heck of a race. So, we start off, he does a wheel stand, trying to show off, and I catch a bad spin off the start. I let off of the gas, and get right back on. Thankfully, the truck downshifted back to 1st, (instead of doing the 'look how slow I can be' 2nd gear accel from 10mph....), and I immediately BLEW past the kid. By 100, I was about 3 or 4 car lengths ahead, before he started to gain at all... I let off the gas, and claimed the win.

Yet another good one...
Same kid who bought the bike, owns a '93 RX7. Now, it's a nice car, I love the RX7's. Problem is, this kid has had problems with his since he first bought it, at over 100k miles.... He's done a ton of work to it, new Greddy turbos, upgraded intercooler, exhaust, boost controller, tuneable ECU, etc... Thinks it'll run low 12's.
SO, I decide to show him how slow it is. When he first bought the car, and it was still stock, I beat him in my '94 Dodge Stealth R/T, NON-turbo. I ran like a 15.5 in that thing... AFTER all of his mods, he barely beat me in the Stealth. He MIGHT have gotten a car length when racing to around 70. He STILL thinks it'll beat the L.
So, we line up one day, by chance. He's on his way home from work, I'm on my way to the store. Purely by chance. He didn't even know it was me, until I threw some revs. He looks over, and does the same. Light turns green, we both launched well. I look over, expecting to at LEAST still see his car next to me, since we're only around 60 or so at this point. Nope, had to look in the rear view. Needless to say, to around 80, I ripped him up. Not even a competition... I kinda felt bad.
I see him later, and he makes up some excuses. 'Oh, I just put in my new turbo (because he somehow seized one of his Greddys...), and haven't tuned it yet...' Understandable. He then procedes to inform me how he could kill me in the turns. Obviously, his car weighs HALF what mine does. Still can't wait for the Auto-X track to open up in Englishtown, though...

HAHAHAHAH...Love it!! He's just jealous, he knows he can't beat you that's why he brought up the thing about turning. Also like the story about beatin him on his bike...I bet he's pissed
Oh, the kid absolutely hates me now. Everytime he thinks he has something special, I go and beat it. Without trying...
NOW, I need to work on the suspension and stuff - get it ready to beat his car in the twisties!

Crap I must have missed that one sorry, but hey being beaten by even a stock z06 is nothing to worry about. Just remember what he paid for his car and what you paid for your L... And defiantly don't forget he's got a light car, yours is a TRUCK!!! You have nothing to be ashamed of... Keep on truckin!!
