Question Ok everyone, Low Emissions sticker...

I have had my truck now for about 3200miles. I always get 11MPG, which is fine by me; I didn't buy the truck for gas mileage. I did get 12.8mpg on my trip to NC (had the cruse set and a calm 78mph on I-95 for 3 hours strait) but other than that I always get 11mpg.

Anyway my question is this. How can a truck that gets 11mpg be considered a LEV (Low Emissions Vehicle)? OR were the guys at SVT playing a joke when they put the little LEV sticker on my window? Everyone has this sticker right?

Sorry for the poor image quality, the lights in my garage suck.

wow 20 views already and no one has replied....
So either 20 non-lightning people are looking over the board thinking... why does he have that sticker or I am the only one with the sticker..... Come on which is it?

Well time to get off work SO I will check back tomorrow.

ah.. you must have gotten the 1.9L lightning. lol

i dont think that low emissions have a lot to do with gas milage..
i think if it gets 2mpg, but doesn't spray toxic fumes into the air, it is a "low emission" vehicle.

i think you are the only person with that sticker.. everybody else took theirs off to go faster, or something.

Yeah I guess your right about spraying toxic dust haha.. I left the sticker on cuz I thought it was funny (and everyone that looks at my truck ask about it) I thought of becoming a ricer and putting a R on the sticker with a red marker!! then it would be faster!
wait... nevermind... Its late and I am tired.

But anyway everyone "had" the sticker on the trucks when new?

Good night all.

Wink

Low emissions doesn't necessarily mean high fuel economy.

Also, I guess they didn't take tire smoke into consideration when they certified it as a low emission vehicle!

Low emissions , not low consumption.

The solution to pollution is dilution.

Hey:

I have the sticker on my truck, though they did a ****ty job putting it on and there are bubbles underneath it. (which is pretty consistent with the way the rest of my truck was put together it seems).

These guys are right about the relationship between emissions and mileage (there isn't one). However, I got about 15 mpg going to WFC and back, though I didn't drive as fast as you.

With the 3:73s your gas mileage is going to go down rapidly after you get over 70 mph.

Got the same sticker on my new 02.....I think it is like the other guys said, it is for emissions not mileage and that is even a joke when you see the black on the exhaust tips after about a week of driving.
