how much?

well im going to have about 23-24k to push around for my truck this summer "my first car!" and I was thinking of either a 98or 99 F-150 4x4 but I also really like the lightnings. do you think that 23-24k "out the door" will get me a used lightning, it would have to be in the new body style tho. thx for any advice

You sure can get a Gen2 Lightning for 23-24, I got my 99 for $21,000 plus tax, tag, title and it only had 15k miles on it. I got it in January, just look around

Just have to know where to look. You can check the classifieds on this site for starters if you haven't already. But it is do-able. Why don't you buy new? That's a good down payment on one. I'd be a little leary in buying a used high HP vehicle. But if you know the person or the history, shouldn't be too bad. Getting the extended warranty would be good though, IMO.

well all my family is giving me "not trying to sound like a little spoiled kid" is about 24k so getting a new one is totaly out of the question given that im about 9-10k short. Il probably just go with the 4x4 because the lightning will probably have been driven real hard and most likely have problems. ahh well.

They can be driven hard and not have problems. But, it takes extra maintenance so it will continue running without problems. As Stan (Ruslow) has told me several times "you put the hurt on it." Consequently, some items that would last 100k miles get replaced a few times within 25k.

Send me an email if you're interested and I'll let you know who to talk with in Los Gatos.
