New best time but nothing to write home about
My previous best was an 8.43 1/8th mile. Tonight I ran an 8.22 best time. Hoosier slicks and Jay's Truck Tracs were the reason for the increase. I was hoping for more, but, I had predicted a two tenths increase earlier today and was pretty much dead right.
My sixty foot times were cut by one tenth. I need some more practice on slicks and maybe experiment with air pressure, I was running 16 psi and getting a little spin.
Maybe I should have predicted three tenths!!

I will be going through the same thing next time out. I have new slicks waiting for some good weather, rain for us this weekend.
What a few people have told me the slicks hook up better the 2nd night out, and I am sure you have to learn a new launch technique.
I bet your 60' times will be better next time.

good job tim. i think my next mods wiil be slicks and some trak bars.
also i got those liscense plate caps. they look better that the plate itself, but still not perfect. im just paranoid about getting it filled and painted. you know with it being hard to match silver and all.
vinnie....thanx for shrinking down the sig. it looks a lot better!!

Tim,
You have to use 14.5psi in those tires. Put a bag of Ice on your intake for 1 hour, set the tires to 14.5psi, stage to 1000rpms, and mat it!! If you dont get in the 7's with your mods, you need a REBURN!!!! I went 7.90's with alot less mods than you buddy!!

Richard,
For the record. I started tim out with 15 psi . and then I had to go . and I took my good guage with me . I forgot to leave it for him. I am not about to put them any lower for him at the time. He has never run on slicks and I do not want him to experience a run with it to low. All vehicles are different on slicks and I could not be there to watch him and get them right for him . All he had was a cheapo guage and no way to put more air in if needed.
I do not think Tim will be like you and wake up one morning and run 7.90's at our track it is impossible.
he may be close but the track we run on has been listed as actually being longer than 1/8th mile by many sites. he will get his 60 foots right , but it will take practice. he doesn't need a reburn of the chip ....just let him practice.

Tim,
Guage started at 15 , so taking them to 15 would hopefully take us up to 16 with the first run. I wish I had more time to tune the slicks in, maybe next time I can spend the whole time. and get them where they work the best . When I had Hoosiers on the stang I averaged 1-1.5 jump in PSI on the first burnout with fresh air. so given a good afternoon I think we can get you at least a 1.75 at the track here
