Exclamation What milage spark plug blow. Mod or not ?

I would like to know about what milage where you at when one or more of your sparkplugs blow out of the head ? And also include if your truck as any mods or not.
Anyone know if checking the plugs every 3,000 miles or more would have prevented the damage ? I only have 300 miles on my 01 L and am torn between what I read hear about this subject. I don't even know if I want to keep it or not.
I do aprehiate everyone telling there own stories. Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about blown spark plugs in your 01L. Yes, it's happened but if they were counted against the total number of 01s sold, I think it would be a small number.

I replaced my stock plugs at 18,500 miles just to get a colder plug because I had added a 5 lb pulley. None of my stock ones were loose. If you check any of yours and find a loose one, run it down snug/finger-tight and then 1/16th of a turn more.

There have been problems with the spark plugs coming loose.
If you pay attn. to your truck it can be prevented. You can hear the plugs coming loose. Just listen for a sound like similar to an exhaust leak.
I heard one of my plugs coming loose yesterday. I was planning on changing over to the Denso's anyways. It was the #2 plug and was about a 1/2 turn loose.

Hope this helps.

Mine was at 34,500 miles.

The plug that went was number 4.

No heavy mods- K&N/Intercooler/Flowmaster.

No chips, no pulleys, no headers.
