I used 5w-30 Mobil One with great results in my 2001.

Now with my built engine I use Mobil One 10w-30 and so far so good

At 2600 miles, I'm still using Motorcraft synthetic blend 5W-20 from Walmart - $1.70/qt. I normally use Mobil-1 in all my vehicles. At 5000 miles I'll switch over to M1 5W-30.

fwiw - OT - for motorcycle riders who use Mobil-1 15W-50 (red cap): Mobil1 has recently reformulated their oil to SL specs (aka "SuperSyn"), and has for the first time stated officially that the newest SL oil is *NOT* recommended for use in motorcycles. Since many stores are choosing not to continue carrying their $8/qt motorcycle-specific oil, there is now a limited supply of $4/wt Mobil-1 in the old formulation. If you use the red cap Mobil-1 you might want to stock up.

I don't think Mobil 1 makes FS 5W-20. The Motorcraft synthetic blend is 5W-20 and can be found at Wal Mart. I now have 10,000 miles and plan on switching to the Mobil 1 5W-30 at the next oil change.

Thumbs up ONLY THE BEST AMSOIL

In my opinion I think Amsoil is the best and there oil and filter is cheaper than Mobil one. If you want to get it at about $4.00 a quart and filters for $8.00 e-mail me and I will let you know how to get it at cost. RA6870@msn.com

Just my .02 cents for the day!!

I do believe Amsoil produces a 5w-20. I talked with rep at a local dune buggy swap meet a couple months ago. He was even surprised to realize he had a bottle on hand as he didn't think it was out yet.

Thumbs up IT'S OUT!!!

Yep it has been out a few month now!! I have switched to it and I love it. My truck got quieter and ran smoother after that. Also they offer an oil analazation of there oil after each oil change. I was going to switch to the 0W-30 race oil they have which is a good oil!! I got the forms so I can get anybody the prefered price which is the same as if you were a dealer selling 100 cases a day!!

I like the Mobil 1, but I've also had good luck with Castrol Syntec products. AutoZone usually carries a good selection of both Mobil 1 and Castrol.

Later,

Mobile 1 doesn't make a 5W20 oil yet. See my sig. for my choice.

Being a diehard fan of Quaker State pretty much for the last 35 years I've owned vehicles, now that they have produced a true synthetic 5W30, I've switched to that. I get it at Walmart for around $2.50 a quart.

CASTROL GTX 5w20 dino oil with silver top at AutoZone. Ford Motorcraft 820s filters for $3.99 also.

My theory is to use dino oil and change it often. Never liked the idea of "extended" oil change intervals with synthetic oil.
IMHO FWIW etc.
