I have no idea what oil is in my truck, but the engine started up yesterday and it ran fine. But, I remember changing my oil and filter last month and the oil level was still full two days ago.

Do you really think your engine knows the difference between 5W20 and 10W30? Put the 10W30 Mobil 1 in it and hit the road.
How long do you really think the multi-vis addititve works in your oil? For most oils it's less than 1,000 miles. For Valvoline Racing Oil it's about 1,800 miles because they use twice as much of the additive in the racing oil.

Worst oils to use

Quaker State
Pensoil
(Very high parafin base)

Worst filter to use Fram, also maskerading as a pensoil filter and quaker state filter. (birds of a feather)

WHAT?!?!?!?! Engines need oil???? Uh oh.....

LOL...

I am changing to M1 5W-30 on the next oil change. My local Wal-Mart carries it and the Motorcraft filter.

5w-20?

I've notice several people asking about 5w-20. Whats with that?
My SVT supplement says to use 5W-30. Do I have a misprint, or is there a reason some want to use 5W-20?

Using Mobil 1 5W-30. Autozone usually stocks it.

Thumbs up Amsoil - worth it !!!

I am now using Amsoil XL-7500 5W-30 full synthetic, expensive but my baby's worth the extra protection, John H.

I'm using Redline 10w30 w/ Motorcraft filters.
I also have Redline in the rear axle (75w90) and Redline High temp ATF in the trans. (the trans fluid made a world of difference in the consistency and firmness of the shifts, no matter the temp.

I followed a link from here on oil filters and found that the Ford filter is essentially the same as Purolator's pure one filter. Supposedly one of the better ones?
