Unhappy Still running bad.

My truck is still running really rough at idle. I was told by Justin at JDM I needed a reburn on my chip for my TR6's. Called back and talked to Sean and he said no. Maybe I had a bad coil or a vacuum leak. I am having no loss in boost so I doubt the vacuum leak. I have no SES light. Could it be the MAF I really don't wanna pull all my "stuff" to have the dealership tell me it is something easy. If I get on it afterwards it will run really poorly. But only for a a little bit then it clears out. But it always has a rough idle liek it is misfiring. But sometimes when i get on it it is smooth as could be. That leads me to think it is not misfiring. Anyone have any ideas>??? Wierd truck. HaHa. Thanks, -Mat- Oh yeah I was think maybe it is running to rich and fouled the plugs>???

There is some valve that is near the intake manifold,, i forget the name of it though, but i had a problem similiar, dealer fixed the valve by replacing it under warrenty and no problems since.

I think the item whitetoast is referring to is the IAC(idle air control) valve. It's bolted to the rt. side of the intake adaptor and has a 'tomato paste size shiny can' as part of it.

It can cause idle surging if it's dirty or worn. Unbolt it and clean it out with a solvent and shake it to see if the vane inside will move freely. A cleaning may solve it if the IAC is the problem. Sometimes it has to be replaced.

Also, what gap did you use on your plugs?

Dan

I gapped at .40. I think I may have fixed her though. I pulled the chip out. Started it up it ran smooth. Put the chip back in and it runs smooth. I am gonna take the computer out of the truck 2morrow and tape that sucker in there really damn good. I didn't get to hit it all because it was ****ty here today. 2morrow I will know for sure I hope. Thank you both for your advice I will let you know how I make out. Thanks again, -Mat-
