Angry ugghh...another citation.......

Well driving around today, being it nice and all today, coming back from the carwash I notice a Howard County Police start following me for like 8-10 miles. Now Howard county cops really dont have nothing much to do in this county since crime is very low and all they really have to worry about is accidents and speed traps. So, obviously she is running my tags as I could tell from her looking at her cpu alot, whole time wondering if she is gonna pull me over and if so, for what? FINALLY she does, says it was for my windshield banner and tint. Okay, whatever, repair order and im on my way right. No, for the windshield banner I get a $50 citation and for the tint, no repair order. Have to go to the State police barraks in five days or will get my registration suspended. I told why the 50$ ticket? I can take it off right now in 5 min or less. Nope, she really wasn't a nice lady. So now I have to pay 50$ of my hard earned money to pay for having a sticker on my windshield . Not to mention the money I spent on the tint that now probally more then likely has to be removed. Just urks me on being pulled over for such non-sence. Oh well, they do protect the community but, sometimes get too bored. Thanks for letting vent.....
BTW, its not that $50 is alot but, being a student and working part-time, $50 is a good chunk of a paycheck.

Somewhere in your county at this very moment, an underage civilian is buying illicit drugs. But thats ok, cause the good citizens around you wont have to worry about that Lightning with the tint anymore..........justice has been served.

In Texas it is not against the law to have a windshild banner as long as it is not lower than the rear view mirror...

Unfortunately, cops are human, too. They have good days and bad days. Some are good people, some are just useless ******. Sometimes you get a sweetheart, sometimes you get a b____. Until we can develop a better training/screening process for recruits (or a better robot), we will continue to see the worst in human character traits pop up in cops from time to time. It looks like today just wasn't your day.

Maybe removing the tint will help you stay "under radar"?

=just a thought.=

God, I wish I had nothing better to worry about than BS tint and banner stops. sheeeeeesh

FYI, in FL, banners/tint IS legal on the windshield as long as it does NOT go below the "AS1" line on the windshield.

I'd worry more about FHP's new Z28's. They have the new LED lightbars that are very low profile and VERY hard to see.

Tickets are a nice source of revenue for the state and are figured into the budget. It's extra topping on the cake especially since your taxes also fund your local PD. You pay them to ticket you....what a concept....for window tint no less.

Don't worry, I bet the issuing officer now feels like a hero and has fullfilled his/her psychological tyranious empowerment for the day.

Considering the time/cost of removing and then re-installing (assuming you are going to do the tint again), find a friend with an F150 and borrow their door glass for a couple of hours. I looked at my door glass when I was doing my keypad mod and it didn't look all that hard to remove (considering the time/cost issue) and swap out. Just a thought that might save you some money.
