Exclamation Close Call @ 109mph!!

All L owners with Bassani cat back exhaust.

Check your clamps at the front of your x pipe.Mine have come loose on me twice. This past time the entire x pipe seperated from the cat side causing the whole assy. to hang just off the ground.
This happened at about 1000' on a 13.05 pass at 108.7 mph!!
(This was a bummer as I was on a good run)
I was lucky no damage occured!! It could have been real ugly!!
I believe this happened because while installing the exhaust I was determined to center the exhaust tips in the center of the cutout in the ground effects.Doing this meant I was not fully inserting the pipes together.
My exhaust tips are now slightly forward in the cutout but I will live with that instead of the risk of a repeat performance.

Check your clamps!! Good luck racing!!

Dang, thats sucks. I think that happened to a Lightning up at Capital last friday night. We were thinking either it was the exaust or the driveshaft, didn't find out though. Great that no damage occured.

That was me!!

were you there to try your traction bars?

How did you run after that long delay for track clean-up?

I was for sure going to be in the 12's but lifted at about 1000' when I heard the noise change and the sound of the exhaust dragging. Could you see any sparks?

See you again.

why don't you have them spot welded at those spots. Then they will stay there.

Thumbs up

Was it really ?! Naw, the guy that was trying out his traction bars was Spanky777will, i was the one with him in the passenger seat. I didnt run my truck since im giving her a rest until next Sat. when im taking her to Cecil. Man, after you ran there were like 2 more delays. Either way Spanky only got in 1 run, I dont think he beat his best. Oh well, good thing it wasn't the driveshaft, Spanky said it was but, I said it wasnt. Should've bet him. See you again sometime.

Iam welding on hooks to attatch a spring to each side to retain ease of removal.
