Times From First Time At The Track With Mods!!!
Last night I finally got a chance to run my L with my current mods and the track conditions were perfect. Stock my L ran 8.93 in the 1/8th. Last night my best time without nitrous on ET Streets was:
R/T .877
60' 1.888
330 5.516
1/8 8.090
MPH 80.46
I was extremely happy to almost run 8 flat with no nitrous, stock converter and no traction devices. I was expecting to run around 8.3-8.4. I will say that my 60 foot times really suffered from my 3/4 drop. The Hotchkis rear leafs are just too stiff. Stock I could consistently have 1.90 60 foot times on F1-'s.
The only bad part of the night was while waiting in the staging lanes getting ready for my first nitrous run at the track, it started to rain and the track was closed. I was really wanting to try out my 75hp NX system but I guess that will have to wait until next time. Anyone want to guess how much ET reduction I should see from the 75hp NX nitrous shot in the 1/8?

HANKFAN,
Great to see that you got to run it, great times for not using the juice. I will guess that you will drop 3 to 4 tenths in the 1/8 when you get to try the 75 shot. Good luck with it and keep us posted on your progress.

Man, I bet I could get 3-4 tenths from what that Red L in the picture above is purging!!!!! I love pictures like that.
Don't get me wrong, I am addicted to that blower whine, but N2O has always been and will always be my favorite power adder. Nothing is as intimidating to me as seeing a huge plume of purge vapors right before the lights change. Nitrous cars always run hard (or, well. . .explode). Can't say the same for turbo and blown cars. I've beaten some pretty exotic looking forced induction equipment in nitroused Mustangs.
I just wish I could have fit the 100lb. refill cylinder in the hatchback, though.

Hankfan,
My truck is lowered a little over 4" in the rear and I'm cutting 1.73 60' times on the Nitto Drag Radials. I too have the Hotchkis rear leafs BUT I also did a C-notch for more axle clearance, you should check your bump stops because you are probably bottoming out when you take off.
Keep it real out in 'da field honkey !!!

Hankfan,
On our NOS program with NO nitrous at FFW 1st round qualifer we ran a 13.12 @ 103.69 (purge valve stuck 1500lbs bottle pressure, so we couldnt bleed off the pressure) Second round qualifier ran a 12.74 @ 108.24, third round qualifier 12.60 @108.24. That was with a LITTLE 50hp shot.
Andrew,
we are in Houston...actually Tomball, where men are men & the sheep are afraid!!!!! LOL

HANKFAN,
I was just looking at my last run that I did last year. I have basically the same major mods as you. I had a 2lb lower pulley and was spraying a 100 wet shot on e.t streets.
I was very happy with my 1/8 mile and I would have been much more happy with the 1/4 mile but I made a big mistake. I was running on my 22" wheels most of last season and that is what JDM had me burnt for. I borrowed a friends 16" rims with his 26" ET Streets for my last run of the year. The mistake that I made was I always raced with my overdrive off but on this run with the 26" tires I should have had it on. I hit my rev limiter at about 100 to 150 feet from the traps, and like a bonehead I didn't think fast enough to turn the overdrive on so I left it on the carpet and coasted the last 100 or so feet through the traps. I really wanted to make the 11 second club so I held her on the floor. I figure by looking at other guys 1/8 miles of their time slips that are in the 11 second club that if I had the overdrive on and was able to pull the whole 1/4 mile I would have had between a 11.30 to a 11.50 run, atleast thats what I think. Any way there is this year and I hope to be in the 10 second club within the next couple of weeks or so.
Here is my time slip for that run and it should give you a good idea of what your truck will do with a 100 wet shot.
