Chicken, I don't think that there is a big increase, or at least as big as advertised. I already have it so I use it, but if I knew then what I know now, I don't think I wouldv'e spent the money. Like Iculokn said, it may make you a little more consistant. If you look in the new Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords, then you can see just how efficient our stock system is.

Mike,

I have had that magazine lying around here for a week or so and finally just read the article on Kenne Bell. You've got a real good point about intercoolers, or at least MM&FF seems to love the intercooler. I think I'll save my money for the blower.

Thanks, I owe you one!

Tim

I think the stock system works very well as is from what I have seen. When I originally purchased the truck I thought of installing a larger radiator (VW style like a dragster uses) in place of the small factory heat exchanger but after speaking ith a few experts (Modine engineer & intercooler company owner) I decided against it (they said the factory system was a very good design). I did install an electric fan (7.5" SPAL) on the heat exchanger and wired it into the intercooler pump circut. It does remove heat when the truck is stationary and I have it switched so I can run in the pits between rounds of racing.

Cosider this though, I was at a private track rental a few weeks ago testing my Hayabusa. I was ready to leave but decided to run the L (tow vehicle ) down the track. Truck had sat for a few hours and was completely cooled down and in 100% street trim. I eased off the line and ran 1.95 60ft, 13.15@ 105.38, hung the second turn off, drove back down the return road and pulled right back up to the tree. This time I ran 1.92 60ft, 13.12 @ 105.53. Runs were made within 2 minutes of each other, truck never stopped moving, it sounds like the intercooler was working, BTW this was during 80* weather.

I would imagine the powercooler could work if the truck was tuned for it (greater air density, cooler air, possibly more boost?) and if the outside temps were such that it made a great difference. I would also think that the greater amount of boost and timing run the better the result would be.

Two weekends ago I ran my truck for the first time with my new mods. Even though I was disappointed with my times and I was playing around with alot of things, my last 4 runs after I left everything alone were 13.07, 13.045, 13.09, and 13.044. I would have to say by keeping fresh ice in my supercooler and cooling the motor for about 10 minutes between runs that it had to help keep my times consistant. Just my take.

Get a torque converter...you should get 3-4 tenths reduction on your E.T.'s. I have heard Yank is good

No problem Tim. I'm thinking about the new charger also. Btw, those wheels look great on the truck! Later, Mike

It works with the intercooler. The flow goes intercooler to powercooler to motor.Mine is under my hood.I just moved the battery and put a smaller w.w. resivior in it.(thanks to ICULOKN)
Mine is not functional yet(soon). So I have no testing done.

Yep that's 100% street trim (not "Stock" trim), 35 psi air in tires, 3/4 tank fuel, cup holder extended, ect.

Ran 13.80's stock @ 99mph, deffinetly not one of the faster "Stock" ones, if they even exist .
