Thumbs up

Maybe try and buy another used 95 L or a used 99L with high milleage or something along those lines,, use an L to tow an L it should tow fine, plus even though it wont be a super fast towing vehicle, it'll look great. You could keep your appearance mods that still fit on it as well. Its what I would do at least.

I double that suggestion!

it'd be pretty hard (read: impossible) to turn down a saleen. but i think you could get a cool cruiser outta a jacked up f150, it'd be good for towing, escpecially a true blue racing lightning. ofcourse if'll drive the lifted f150 everyday, don't even think about it. i think the handling and gas mileage would drive me crazy.

A saleen is pretty damn nice, but personally I would just buy something to tow your L with. Don't know what kinda money your lookin to spend, but my truck is great for towing (check sig). New '03 expeditions are nice, but kinda pricey. But dont buy that SVT Focus. Just my opinion

I think you should go with option A because with Option B before you know it you'll be modding your daily driver. And you'll have 2 hot rods and no beater. Everyone needs a beater.

You don't want a Saleen for a daily driver. It's worse then the L in rain, and forget about any type of snow. One of my good friends has one. I'd recommend the SVT focus way before that.

if I were you i would say go with the lifted f-150 and use it to tow the L. on the weekends when your not racing you can do some mild offroading. i say mild because you dont want to do anything that could potentially break the truck and make it non-driveable. today i went rock climbing with my buddy. he has a 97 f250 4door that has something like 6"s lift and 44" tires. that truck gets more looks in one day than my lightning did in a week.

Richard,
That one is a tough call, It took me a while to decide on that too. But, I did buy a new 02 Tahoe to use as a daily driver and to tow the Lightning to the track. I hope for mine to be very streetable, but to me it is not worth the chance or hasle to gamble when you are far away from home. Plus if you are towing it, you don't get tempted to race going to and from the track. And another is you can have it ready to go, with the slicks on, motor nice and cool when you arrive. And then if you have bad luck and brake something you still have a way to get it home.
I still haven't bought a trailer yet, but I want to go with a 24' to 26' enclosed trailer. Time will tell. Good luck with your decision.
Bill

no way, find yourself a nice used F250 superduty diesel and use that for a daily cruise mobile. With very little mod money you can get that thing to run 13 all day anyway and then put some big mudding tires on it and have another sport toy!

Cool Get a Ford tow vehicle!

I can tell you that we will never be without a tow vehicle. I agree w/hdmlnium, I always amile when Rob rolls the truck off the trailer (cooled & slicked) while everyone else is scrambling to get their trucks ready. If our truck would have broke down BEFORE the first qualifying round we could have raced the F250. Who knows if he doesn't get the engine fixed in time it may be what races in Pennsylvania.
