Intercooler Pump Duty Cycle??

I'm wondering how often the intercooler pump runs? Is it on all the time? Or does it come on during boost? Or what? Anyone have the story on this? My previous vehicle had an air - liquid intercooler system which only turned the pump on when the boost came up. I wired it up to run all the time when the ignition was on to keep cool liquid circulating and reduce the amount of heat soak. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I think it runs anytime the engine is on.

The pump is commanded to come on by the PCM when the IAT2 sensor reaches 60 degrees. Typically, that's about 2-3 minutes after start up when stone cold, and any time the motor is warm.
