pulley install question

how the heck do i get the allen bolts into the pulley?!?!? Do I need to take the fan off? I don't have enough room to get my fat *** hands in there to get them in, let alone torque them. If anyone has ANY pointers, please let me know. I really need to figure this out. Thanks.

I just put in an ASP 4# pulley and didn't have to remove the fan. To remove the stocker I had to shorten my hex socket tho'. The ASP doesn't use the cage.

On my pulley I used a 5/16?" hex socket that was the extended version (about 1.5" long hex drive so it doesn't bind on the edge of the pulley) to thread it in and tighten it. Don't know if thats what size your allen bolts are but if your in a bind you can cut the bend off a regular allen wrench and put the shaft into a regular socket.

Hope this helps.

I have the socket sitting here in front of me. Total length of the 5/16 hex socket is 3-1/4 inches long. It worked fine even on a torque wrench. The whole changeout was much less trouble than I expected. Stock pulley came loose with about 100 ft-lb. Blocked the flywheel with a combo wrench.
