There is an article in the new Motor Trend (just got it in the mail yesterday) about MPG and vehicles. The have an Escalade pulling a 9000 lb Donzi getting horrible gas mileage, a motor home, a Bentley at a race track and a Lightning at the 1/4 mile.

The Lightning got something like 3.2 MPG at the 1/4 miles track. They drove a bone stock L and were running in the low 14's. They said that some older guy at the track was giving them pointers on how to launch. They said that the older guy and his wife both have L's and it was the wife's idea to go to the track!

I will try to take a digital picture of it tonight if I get the chance.

 

3.2mpg..LOL, and we complain about the street mpg.

 

NO flame here, but it was in Automobile magazine. The older man had a 2001 that would not break into the 13's even with the editor of the magazine driving the truck. HIs wifes was a 99 but they never went into what hers would run.

Motor Trend this month has a new Viper profile, as does Automobile, and MT also had a nice comparison test between the new LPE C5 Vette (427ci TT) and a Blue Angel F-18 Hornet.

That car had sick numbers no matter which ones you looked at. But I guess a 40K motor should do that

I had seen the car on the LPE website a few months back, and even watched the video they had on there as well. But until seeing a reputable magazine test it, I am just in awe. My brother and I were talking about how much it really looks like a stock C5 other that the huge hole in the front. Think of all the ppl that get the hell shocked out of them when they line up to that thing.

Sorry about that. I get both Automobile (free) and Motor Trend and they both came in the mail yesterday. I just mixed them up.

They both have articles on the '03 Cobra.

 

I saw that comparison in motor trend. Check out the powertrain warranty...lol

 

Which issue was the MT and Automobile, so I know what to look for, and don't have to flip through a bunch to find it's not the right one? Thanx.

 

Automobile was the one with the Lightning mileage thing.

 

Sooner or later they'll figure out that we don't buy them for 40 mpg. Yup, it gets gas mileage...really bad mileage!!!
