Why is my truck so slow?
I think a few different conversations are getting confused here. I updated my sig to clear up any questions. The elevation is about 300' where I race. I will put in a new fuel filter and try that. Truck has 24K on it right now and I don't think it has been changed. I bought the truck used. Thanks for all the help guys.
ok --- my truck is a 00 w/ 8500 miles on it. the chip is a duel program superchip w/ the basic R9 program (not tuned for the gas) im not sure of the elevation at my track. ill try to find out today. my air filter is an airraid with the k&n cone filter which is pretty new. il clean it just for the hell of it though. truck was off for 1.5 hours priar to the run. al electronics were turned off eg..overdrive, stereo, lights, etc.
hope that helps
this week im going to try just 91 octane, no tailgate or spare and ive been jogging to try and shave a couple pounds.
LOL (haha that was funny, i said i was going to go jogging.

What should someone do to lower 60' times? 1.88 is ok?
My 60' times were 2.3-2.4. I don't have the Lightning, just a Magnacharged 4.6. I just want to see the 14's. 15.060 @ 90.42 was my best out of four. 60' times are hurting me.
It's not as easy as it looks!

sheriff,
Looks like elevation isn't the culprit in your case. Did you disconnect the battery when you switched over to the race program at the track? Sal mentioned that he always does this because the computer learns the way you drive and can interfere with the chips performance parameters. By clearing your computer you allow yourself to take full advantage of the performance program on your chip. I don't know how much this advice is good for in terms of e.t. improvement; but, it's worth a try.
FastasL,
I would say that you are doing well to have that e.t. at the elevation you are running at. Maybe if you could convince them to let you run from the finish to the start you could pick something up.

Odin,
Thanks for the help, and no I didn't disconnect the battery. I'll try that next time. Any suggestions on the best bang for the buck mods that I don't already have to get into the 12's? Cost is a big factor for me because I have a kid on the way. It is a mission to run 12's though.
Thanks again.

...Its the "EL-E-VA-TION" (sorry, bad U2 reference)
I'd have to concur with what's already been said- the elevation at your track is what's killing you. I also have a 00, and with the basic chipenfilter combo and just a 2# pulley I ran a 12.9@106.8 last year. For comparisons sake, I ran a 13.6 stock in ~ the same temps previously.
If 12's are you're goal, swap the 3#'er out for a 6'er (and buy a bigger pulley too...get it? 6'er- beer joke? oh, nevermind).
Later...
