Angry I give up, on this chip!

I had to take my chip out agian. I have already sent it in once to be reburn to get the hard shifts out. Suppose to have been free, told by their office, and a $10.00 reburn fee shows up on my credit card. Ok so it's just ten bucks. So now $300.00 into this and I can't use it. So I have some questions. Those who have JDM chips, does your program shift hard? And is it so rich that the outside of your tailpipes are black? I haven't given up on a chip. I want Quality in personel and product. I love my truck and I cant treat her too bad!

Mine shifts hard. have you called Jim and talked to him about the problem and the charge for the reburn. I had shipping problems(not JDM's fault) and he took care of me.

I dont know about the JDM chips, but when I asked Sal & JL to do something on my chip it was just what I asked for??

Did you send a note back with your chip saying what you wanted??

I have a JDM flip chip, and I love it.

The hard shifts are because he cuts out the shift duration (time it takes to shift a gear)........well that and my valve body Jim does not increase the line pressure.

Also my exhaust tips will turn black if I am on it. But hell that is what I want......if I had clean exhaust tips after a WOT run, I wouldn't expect my motor to last long.

Perhaps the $10 was the shipping charge? What method of shipping was utilized, FedEx/UPS 2nd day air? This could explain the charge.

Ive been through this exactly.Believe me,You dont want hard shifts from a chip. You will go through many trannys like me.Your JDM chip is the BEST way to shift the truck without hurting it.If you have been in a truck with a chip that shiftd real hard you would understand that although it shifts hard,It feels and IS bad for the tranny! JDMs chip shifts 10 times quicker than anybodys ive tried and ive tried them all.Get a valve body and youll be happy!quicker is better,harsh/harder isnt

If you're blackening the tips, you're running rich, you're running safe. If you told the tuner you wanted a safe program, you'll get that. I'm stock and I blacken my tips in 3 days usually.

As for shifting changes, I'd agree with the above. The PSP-FT core and/or JDM chip has the best shifting changes. The PSP-FT core is purely mechanical, no computer involved.

Lightbulb

Rebuns use to be $75 each but competition got intense and now its just a $10 handling and shipping fee. Call Jim, he should be back in Jersey by Friday if hes not dead. Between the heat and his alergies he looked like he'd been on a three day bender and Jim doesn't drink hardly at all. I'm sure he will be glad to get home.

shift hard - yes/no, sometimes it's a kick in the pants shift other times it's perfect. It became even harder w/ a line mod. I would prefer it a little soft.
black tailpipes - yup, sign of plenty fuel, running rich, a little less power but your less likely to blow the engine from running lean.

Since your in Texas you should have headed down to meet Jim in person.

See what fresh air does to Jersians! They'll be fine as soon as they get back here
