Chip install Question

I bought a used chip and plan on installing it very soon. My only question is that I don't have a sponge to clean the contacts. So, I need to know what I can use to clean the contacts instead of the sponge. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Kimbal,

I guess all the questions have been answered right? The chip is the same code as your truck? You know how to reset the computer? You know how to install the chip? If so, you do not need a sponge, it is actually a piece of Scotch-Brite pad that is used to clean off the contacts, you can also use a razor blade or a piece of fine emory paper instead. Be very careful not to damage the contacts while cleaning.

This will help too.

Buying a used chip can be a risky propositon if you don't know exactly what model year and mods it was burned for. But here are all of the instructions you will need to acomplish the installation task.

Contact cleaner

You can use a green scotch brite pad which is what they give you when you buy new. I think you could use a extra fine sand paper but never emory paper because it is conductive as is steel wool. You may be able to get away with just a contact cleaner because the silicone was removed by the previous user of the chip.

I know the chip is good as I have already sent it back to Sal for a re-burn. I have instructions for install, but not a scotch-brite pad. I appreciate everyones concerns, but I have already made sure on all of the other issues. You guys are always helpful past the point that is required, and I thank you all for that.
