6# pulley problem
Has anyone had problems w/ their 6# pulley and chip combo setting the ses light off? Mine kept on doing it and the diagnostics machine said that a lean condition was detected on both banks of my injectors. I ended up changing back to my 2# pulley and chip setup and the light hasn't come back. It looks like a chip problem, but I had been running the chip and pulley for about three weeks w/ no problems. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou, Jason

We checked fuel pressure and got 32# at idle and 56# at wot. Book says 28 to 32#'s at idle so I think that looks normal. Can a chip go from running good to running bad? Only thing different from it running good to bad is new coils (all 8) and 160* stat, which it is supposed to be tuned for.

160 stat could definrtly be the problem but I would think it would be running rich not lean with a 160......If the computer keeps the truck in a cold cycle too lond, you will get a ses light for sure. The reaso i know this for fact is I just put a thermostat in my 98 4cyl ranger today which was stuck open getting me 10 mpg for the last few weeks and a SES light!
