I know this has been covered, but can somebody tell me what the fastest ET time for an L ever? If you can tell me the mods they had, I would appreciate it

Jason Brown's 1st Gen Lightning. 7 second truck ( last reported ET anyway ), could be in the 6's by now.

We had Jason's truck at the track last Thursday but do to a leaking intake gasket he was not able to make a pass. Problem is being repaired this weekend and truck should be sorted out shortly. I don't know if it will hit the 6's , the power is there for sure but there's a lot of other factors to consider, that is Jason's goal however so we'll have to wait and see.

What's up Black2000L,

Yep that's me, the license plate kinda gives my identity away. I try to wave at every "L" I see, hope I didn't snub you but if it's before 9am I am a sleep behind the wheel . Have fun and be careful out on Jog International Speedway.

His truck is a RACE truck which I'm sure is not drivin on the street which makes it unrealistic. Let's see some seven second passes in full trim.....

Nostromo,

What is scary is how streetable the truck really is for what is done to it. It' still has 3.55 gears, and with the low compression it could be driven on the street though the local law enforcement officers might not care for it . Actually I think the most unstreetable thing about the truck is the rear suspension and the reduced interior headroom. The last time I rode in the truck it was still a stock body at stock ride height and ran mid-low nines @ 148mph, let's just say it felt very quick.

check the july issue of truckin. it says someone else has the fastest gen 1 lightning, but gives no performance times! its got 4.56 gears. it has 1,135 hp and 1,083 pounds of torque, but they are building a new engine which will produce between 2,200 hp to 2,500 hp and more than 1,800 lb ft torque. the only stock things are the sheetmetal, everything is for the race setup. dunno which is faster.
