Lightbulb So close......

Well we had a eventfull night at the track. We had 4 L's there. TheHylandr, Extreme99, Myself, and a new guy.

The truck felt really good today and I was hoping for a new best and a new club. I got one of them. The first pass was a real loss. Truck spun really bad and I let out of it.

I then ran a 12.31 & 12.29 still spinning and was kind of pissed off!! My truck use to always hook up!! Ok so I played with my Traction bars even more and FINALLY got it to where I could get out of the hole!! Here are my runs from tonight....

I ran a 15.0 lol, 12.31, 12.29, then after finally getting it right 12.10 and last buy not least.....

1.672 60 Foot
7.79 @ 90.87 1/8 Mile
12.067 @ 112.49 1/4 Mile

So it ends up I did get some ET & power from the LT's. Plus alot of cool sound.... LOL

Well there are two guys off of here looking at it. They really want it so we will see. Maybe it will still be in the family, just a new owner....

Congratulations on your new best, It sucks that you didn't join a new club tonight but you will be there easy when you get your new truck done.

That is the best way to run them, I run the same way, with just the spare tire and hitched ditched. I think the trucks are more impressive with the tailgate on and tonneau, atleast they look better that way. I know you will loose a little bit by running it that way, but she sure is purdy like that.
Sal must be wicked happy with his 10 second run, Fastest 2 generation Lightning in the country right now, I have heard rumors of other Lightnings in the 10's but if they are too shy to post about it then I don't count them.
I can't wait to get my truck back so I can join him in the 10 second club.
Good luck to you buddy and if Sal goes to the track again soon see if someone can video it because I would love to add a 10 second Lightning to my video collection.

Richard,

Good run! You've got mail. We're waiting until tomorrow to go to Lowes Motor Speedway because of the rain.

For you guys that don't know, I gave my wife and daughter-in-law the Richard Petty driving experience for a Christmas present and they'll be driving at the speedway tomorrow at 2 PM. Come on out to watch. You can get into the grandstands free.

Nice run Richard. You are almost there! As you can see, traction is such a delicate balance with these trucks.

You ought to try the tracks out here. We would kill for a 60' time like that. We're happy with 1.85.

Your're not serious about selling your truck? Good Luck!

Damn Richard, slow down..............jk, thats great man. Jimmy and I went to Rockingham a few weeks ago and he raced in the import shootouts. He ended up winning the whole thing running 12.0's. There were a few faster Supras but they got greedy when racing him. One that was running 11.7's decided to run nitrous and ended up with a sputtering 12.6. In the finals, the guy he was racing turned up the boost going for 10's and ended up spinning the slicks to a mid to high 12. Jimmy took home $300 in his first organized race. Hopefully we can all get together again soon to go racing. Later and good luck w/ the 11's. Mike

Rich,
Congratulations on your times on Friday night. I see after I left the truck started improving. I am glad you got to see some improvement from the LT. You proably just now need to get a re-burn on the chip from Sal and you will see the 11s!!

Jamey,
I was nice to have meet you. Hopefully you will have your slicks on the truck next time I see you. Then you will be able to turn some serious times with your set-up.

Also, did either of you go to MIR?

Well, got to go for now; talk with you later

I was nice to have met you and your wife also. You have a very nice truck. Congrats on your new best time by the way

I will certainly have slicks next time...in fact I'll have them tomorrow

I decided not to go to MIR because it was raining here. I didn't want to drive 2 hours to find out that the track was closed because of rain

Talk to you later Chris, hope to see you around some more.
