Been saving for a Lightning for two years; finally did the deal today (I hope). New 2002; ("Midlife Crisis/Arrest-me" RED). Pick it up this evening; X Plan, etc. Got jerked around by a couple other dealers; called these guys on the phone and did the deal in 15 minutes. Hopefully, it will pass muster, and I'll have that perpetual Lightning "GRIN" from now on!

Thanks to the people on this board for all the info and tips that helped me thru the buying process. Keeping the '97 (Neal likes it, as do I) for an everyday driver/hauler.

 

Way to go, I hope everything works out. The grin doesn`t go away, it`s been two months and I still have it.

You are in big trouble now, you will hate when the winter comes and you have to drive the slow F150. I am sure if the Neal you are talking about is the one I am thinking, he will be wanting to drive it all the time. Also I hope you are single cause the chicks dig these Lightnings.

I picked it up last nite! No hassles with closing the deal; actually, it only took about 15 minutes. Impressed by how "tight" the suspension is, compared to my '97 F150. Also impressed with the brakes!

Gonna order a bedrug, ventvisors (Weathertech) and a hard lid today. More to follow, I'm sure. To the comments above: Yes, I AM married, and I'm no spring chicken, but I'm sure I won't mind a little attention from time to time.

 

Oh, you'll get attention. the problem will be keeping all the beautiful women from leaning on the truck and smudging up the paint. this is a daily occurance. thats when i like to be firm with them, like my buddy Ike.
