$230 Single Blade T/B
$230 Single Blade T/B
I just got a buddy of mine to polish my FRPP T/B that I bought for $230. I am just so proud of it, because I finally got to get a good deal on something for the L. I just wanted to let everyone know that I found this T/B over on www.corral.net in the Modular parts section. All of the Cobra guys are selling there FRPP's for the Accufabs. The Accufabs are better, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity. I did find one for $200, but I was about 10 minutes to late trying to buy it, but I found this one the next day. My buddy Willie is going to switch the lever cam over so it will fit.
I think it takes the stock lever cam, 15 minutes, and a tach weld.

What should make the Accu-Fab better is that you cannot get the FRPP item new and also the fact the it is smaller then the FRPP throttle body. Flow testing on N/A Cobras, Bullitts or any application where the FRPP T-body would fit have shown a loss of low-end torque thus a slower car for drag racing. Actual measurements show that the stock Lightning and Cobra throttle bodies are about 9.75 square inches in area. The FRPP throttle body is about 11 square inches in area and this has proven to be too much air flow for a small displacement naturally aspirated motor. The Accu-Fab throttle body for the Cobra is in-between this size. Something like the Goldilocks theory to air flow. Very few cases of cracking reported on the FRPP item and the fact that the FRPP throttle body is cast from magnesium is why it was in short supply and finally discontinued.
Side note: At $200.00 the FRPP is excellent for blown Lightning application. Bad news is that once polished you will be stroking that thing more time then Aladdin did his lamp to keep the shine

Thanks for the compliments guys, but I won't really have to be repolishing it often, because it is not a daily driver. It is going straight to the track and back home....did I say it is getting hauled to the track? All I am using it for is show and race.
