buying an L... have a question though.....

i have been thinking about buying an S351 saleen convertible for a few months now...
for some reason i have decided that i want a silver lightning (to match the navi)

my question is,,, are they going to make them in silver in 2003?
if not ill just try and find a new or low mile 2002...

i really dont want to drive it either...just tow it to the track and the street races.....

here are the important questions....

will it be too much on the motor just racing it? or should i drive it regularly?
also, if i get it i am going to put about a 100-150 shot of NOS in it..
should i change anything in the engine to make it safer? (kevlar rods maybe)

im tired of fixing up the gator so now its time to put it to the side and start a new project..

thanks in advance...

Steven: silver in 03? I would think so but who knows?

I'm not sure what you mean by: "will it be too much on the motor just racing it? or should i drive it regularly?" but I 1/4 mile mine almost every Fri. night and I drive it to and from work every work day. I now have 26,500 miles on my 01. It has been trouble-free except for two cracked fog lights! So far, I haven't had to upgrade anything internally....................

As to nitrous; Sal uses a 100-150 shot frequently. Maybe he will see your post?

Wink

i'd do the whole Navigator in kevlar, and race that, because you just don't see many of those at the track. Then i'd get the Lightning and turn that into my new tang-mobile, because that's why we bought them anyway.

wooo-hooo 3000posts, i think i'm about to be knighted or something!!!!

If you change your mind, I'm parting with my Saleen S351 Convertible. If interested, shoot me an email.

Congratulations MRBBQMAN!

You also reached another milestone.

This was your tenth post providing technical assistance.

( I hope to catch you on that but, seems I've been hopelessly stuck on 2)

Unhappy

i try to stay out of the technical forums, unless they are bbq related. i did, once, advise someone, as to the location of the windshield washer refill reservior cap, and then worried if i had erred and had actually directed him to the radiator cap, and possibly killed him. but, the refill went thru without a hitch, and i just feel a little safer by sticking with things i know about, like basting, marinades, or something
