Post Purchased new '02 on X-plan

I have been keeping my eye on this site since '99 and have finally come to my senses. Spent last Friday night at the dealer and purchased a Silver L on X-plan. Just wanted to say hello and express my joy. 150 miles on her and just waiting for the break-in period to be over!

Anybody from Portland, OR know of a place to purchase Billet Grills and have them installed?

Welcome fellow Oregonian. Great to see another Oregon L. Bought the best color too. I have the Stull billet grills in mine. Pretty easy to install. See if I can remember where I got them. Can save a few $ and install yourself or come by here on the next mod day and we can get them in. Be sure to check out the PALO forum (Portland area Lightning owners) over on NLOC.net

BREAK IN PERIOD!!! I couldn't wait that long.

As soon as my truck hit the 1000 mile mark it was running 12.8's (mods of course)

Congrats on the new truck. You'll truly enjoy it!!

Even though you'll get lots of dissenting opinions, take it easy the first month or two for break-in. A lot of people say "drive it like you stole it" but the manufacturers and suppliers DO have a break-in regimen in their dyno testing. Break-in is a sound principle.

OK, let the flames of dissent begin...

btw - Silver IS the fastest color.

The owners mannual states that there is no break in period.

It just says to vary the throttle position often and do not travel at a steady RPM for the first 1000 miles.

My parts were on order at about 800 miles, at 1000 it went to the track with them on.

so why would they even bother to print that?
