Good pics Richard! Can you still hear the blower as well as before?

Richard,

Do you have any pics of your caltracs installed? I'm right on the verge of ordering a set of caltracs and fast air from Sal but I need to see how the caltracs mount, particularly at the front. You're the only one that I know of that has them installed on a lowered truck with Bassani catback. Go make a pic for me buddy.

Since I lowered my truck, my JDM bars won't work anymore, they hit the exhaust pipes. Looks like they're going to the classifieds too.

I had the first one put on my truck by Sal and the blower is louder then ever. Also saw with my own eyes the effects. As after Sal put it on we went for some test and tune blasts on the highway. He had his scanner hooked up and he put in to monitor air temp going into the engine. Well sitting on the side of the road waiting for traffic to clear air temp was about 90 degrees then when we did a WOT blast temp dropped an amazing 30 degrees to 60. Also another thing was after the WOT blast when we got back to Sal's house and popped the hood the upper intake was still cool to the touch.

Vin,

Thanks, my mind is pretty made up about the fast air system but I need to see how caltracs are installed so I can order both at the same time.

Is the air scoop under the bumper made of plastic? It looks like it is, and if so, it would be more durable than metal if it ever comes in contact with a curb or the road.

Yes it is plastic, I know they are durable for sure, My JL one took a few beatings and all I ever had to do was realign it.

Tim,

If you get a FAST Air make sure you get the adapter since you dont have a PSP Filter kit.

What kind of gains do you expect out of this system at the track? What were your gains from the JL ram air setup?

Nice looking job.........how long did it take to receive your kit? I ordered one back in March........still don't have it..........have tried e-mails, faxes and left messages.........no responses...Don't mind waiting for a good product, it's the WONDERING game I don't like...Guess I'll give up on the FASTAIR and look to another product...Maybe the JLP kit is available......can anyone out there vouch for the service provided by other vendors?

not to flame the vendors but , they are always busy testing and tuning first and formost, for our benifit? when they run out of test and tune$$$ they service you accordingly=mo money=more test and tune ,from what i have seen on all L boards customer service and replys to questions and orders etc.. is as bad as the almost defunk- K-mart.
i know test and tune is needed but there need to race there vehicles far surpasses your customer concerns. just my 2 cent's bla bla bla ,but i will order my stuff from a vendor/tuner /racer once i establish the fact ,they will be there when needed ,if not i will stay stock ,hasn't hurt anything yet but my ego=stock,
the bottom line is hire more people or open a store for products with employees to handle the resposability of a buisness and race and tune /test with a different group of employees /friends whatever ,JUST MIND THE STORE PLEASE>

Thumbs up

Richard,
Looks great, and look at the tread you have on those tires, thats huge lol

Tim,
Your JDM bars don't fit? I have them on my truck with the 3/4 kit and full Bassani. The only problem I have had is the front brackets have hit the ground twice, I watch myself when the grades change on roads now, but I have never had a problem with the bars against the exhaust. Maybe you can adjust your exhaust a little and save some money. That combo does work, I promise you.

Excited, that may be true of some companies, but I don't work like that. I always put my customers first. I planned to do a lot of work to the truck over the winter, but business never slowed down at all. I kept putting the truck off, to get orders out. We didn't have the time to finish it for NMRA in FL, I had to race my stock 95, and that doesn't sell parts. We barely had it done for NMRA GA, and we wound up finishing it at the track there. Problems always arise, we are always breaking stuff, and having to fix stuff, but the customers come first. So please don't include me in with the people you are describing.

As for the FASTair kits, many orders got delayed way longer than I wanted. I started to run out of the original batch of 90mm boxes, and could no longer get in touch with the company who built them for us. It took a long time to find a new company that could make them for us, at the same price we were previously paying, so that I would not have to raise the price on the kit. I even had to take the 80mm boxes in stock and have a machine shop enlarge the holes to 90mm, which cost me money but I did not pass that to the customer. Now we have a new company making our boxes again, so we should soon be able to get back on track, but unfortunately many orders were delayed. I do apologize to those waiting, and hope that the quality and performance of the product will overshadow the time it took you to get it.

Sal,
You touched on some good points on the delays. People have to realize that the demand for all these great products that our tuners come up with for us sometimes run into unforseen delays. That is how it is and we as a whole (the Lightning community) have to be patient, because when we do receive the product that we ordered we are happy again. No matter what some people post I think we all are very, very lucky to have three great tuners to make our trucks fly.
And again, congratulations on getting into the 10's, great job.
Bill
