Unhappy Strange Sound!

Hey, just wanted to ask you all your opinion on this. A few weeks back, I had to turn my L stock for a dealer visit, getting onto the freeway that night I gave it gas(went into boost), and heard a metal against metal sound. It wasn't a grinding sound, but more of a rubbing sound (but it was constant until I got out of boost). Well, I got home that night, got up the next morning to take her to the dealer, and everything sounded fine. (Keep in mind that this was at around 65-80 mph, not sure on the RPM range).

Last night I was cruising home along side a Z06 at about 100 mph, and gave it gas (went into boost) and heard the same sound. EVERY time I went into boost at around that speed, I hear the same metalic rubbing. I get home, do my thing, and get back on the freeway again the same night (about 5 hours later), and now I can't recreate the sound. Any opinions?? It doesn't do it with my aftermarket pulley, so I was thinking maybe the stock one isn't screwed on right, but then it'd be doing the sound all the time wouldn't it?

Mine started making a similar sound right after the I/C replacement. Mine makes that noise right as it goes from vacuum to boost.

Angry

Sounds like a similar noise that I have been hearing in my '01... I guess mine is going to have to go in to be checked out soon...

I have been told that it could possibly be a bad idler pulley though...

Please post if you find out what it is...

Any other takers??

Adrenaline, any aftermarket parts on your L?

I heard about the idler pulley on the 02's but not the 01's. I'll have to get under there and check some things out.

Thanks guys.

Is it possible that it's the blower belt slipping? I mean sometimes it can sound sorta metallic.. just a thought

I don't think it's the blower belt. I went out tonight with my vid camera and got some footage. Nothing with the sound going long term, but multiple shorts blasts where you can hear the sound clearly. I was talking with someone, and they mentioned the bearings in the blower. Possible do you think? It sounds god aweful. When I get a chance, I'm going straight to the dealer!
