Why I hate Level 10

Back when I was having trouble getting cores, as a desperation measure I called Level 10 and ordered 30 accumualtors. Told them upfront I needed them NOW, that was why I was ordering from them.
No problem, they say they can ship them by Thursday.

I waited a week, no cores, so I call, and they say, well, in another day, tow at most, we'll send them next day air.

A week later I get a message ont eh machine, the cores are held up in customs, we'll get back to you.

WHY ARE THEY IN CUSTOMS? the things are built in Cincinnati, ah heck, I got some from my nomral source, screw it.

This week, I see on a creidt card billt hat on Mar 11 htey charged my card for the parts, I'm not real upset, but I call and ask them to reverse the charge (I didn't even ask them to re-imburse the interest). they say, No can do, they were special order parts and I have to pay for them, they'll get them out by Friday. And the guy stillinsists that they come from Windsor. Not I like work down the aisle from where they're made and know better.

Is it me or is this BS?

I agree there customer service sucks.
I am leaving in 10 minutes to have my brand new beefed up transmision disasembled and rebuilt. My stock trans lasted 26.000 miles without a single problem. The new bulet proof trans lasted 3 days before starting to malfuntion on me.

Lets pray it makes the 3.5 hour drive to NJ this morning.

Just a quick question for Factory Tech I need to upgrade my tranny to handle the power I will put through it. I plan to run 10s by the end of summer. I called Level 10 and they want 2 grand to upgrade the tranny with clutch packs, torq converter, and a couple of other things its to late here for me to remember what all it is. This seems to high can I get by with the stock torq converter for now? I have spent a ton on making the engine strong enough. What would you recamend that is fairly affordable
and will handle the power?

NCETRY,

Hate to say it, but the fastest TUNER isn't even running 10s. They have torque converters & built up tranny's to boot, plus a couple other things.

Not only will the stock converter not get you there performance wise, I bet it might flash on you. Going fast is a factor of spending cash.

How much money you got?

I agree going fast has a relation to how much $$$,but at the same time I gave the the money to provide a service that they said they could. And 3 days of driving does NOT cut it.Go get them Don.Stan IMHO

Dont be surprised if that tranny of yours was never touched Don. I also had a tooner keep my ride for a few months, only to pay for products and services not rendered, but I was lead to believe it was!!
I currently am suing them, and the supposed tranny rebuilder up in North NJ. its hard enough this day and age to trust companies that promise the right stuff, only to take short cuts to save themselves some money, not taking into consideration that people will find out sooner or later.
Side note:
I am not the only one that has had this problem. I found a local person with a Blown HD, also worked on by the same company. That truck has only 6K on the odometer, but he was charged, and billed for a much beefier unit than he recieved.

Hmmmmmm, wonder if they work closely with Hennessey???? Sounds like the same work principle.

Don - give em hell, 3 days it should be breaking in, not broken. Well it's nice to to now I can scratch Level10 of the list of places to consider.

My Experience with Level Ten:

2 1/2 years ago: Ordered a Converter, Pat Barett sent the wrong one which was discovered after my Tranny was out of Truck. He proceeds to tell the owner of the Transmission shop to go get another Flywheel. In my Opinion Pat Barrett cdidn't have a clue about a Gen 2. Reinstall Tranny in Truck

Finally, He has Precision Industries send me a Convertor.

After this Costly and Time Consuming B.S. Pat Barrett didn't even have the manners to apologize. It was like T.S.

Gregg, This is Just another reason why it is Blessing to have someone like you who cares about These Trucks,

Jim

I'm glad I went the Factory Tech route. I also hope to be in the 10's by year end. If it doesn't happen I'll blame it on my wife because she is pregnant again.

Unhappy

Check out my thread on our website. I hated seeing this one... My stock trans lasted about 12K miles but I admit to driving different than most. I talked to Level 10 bought their high priced kit and converter because of the Fridge write up in MM&FF. As I went through the PTS rebuild kit it was full of parts I can get from local suppliers! The ONLY item I cannot get is their special one sided intermediate frictions. I added up the parts in the PTS kit which I bought for 650? Would cost me under 250 through Trans Star or Repco Oh yeah and they billed my CC for parts that should have been warrantied and still not sent out yet, nice huh. I don't like to join the vendor bashing posts but this one has a special place on my heart next to the mother-in-law

I've heard nothing but bad things about Level Ten. On the other hand I have heard only good things about Factory_Tech. Guess who I will buy from!!
