Smile Sal.....Head stud ?

Sal
Do you know if installing larger diameter head studs has been done?
I guess my heads have been lifting for a while now. At least 5 of 8 cylinders to the exhaust side of the block.

Will the standard ARP studs do the trick or can we machine for larger ones?

Dale, the ARPs do the trick. The problem with the stock head bolts is that they are Torque To Yield design, and they "stretch". So what happens is under extreme cylinder pressures, the heads lift for a second, then when you let off they reseat and all is well. That's what happened to us last year, trying to run the 175 shot, we were lifting the heads at the 1000ft every pass.
