Post Throttle Body Question

For those that have replaced their throttle bodies, are they worth the $$$ that you paid for them? I know they are only worth a few HP and some throttle response, but if you had to do it over would you?
Thanks

Depends on the year as to how much improvement you'll see. 99 & 00 have a smaller t/b than the 01+. A single blade quality after market t/b will probably improve even the 01+ a little. Plenty of guys upgraded. Search works now. Plenty of answers out there if no one responds.

I thought TB's from 99-2002 were identical. I guess I was just misinformed.

I think they are the same; he may be confused with the MAF.

Depends on how you value HP increases. They make more; my experience was no more than 5-6.

Thumbs up

I just put one on and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Fun factor increases 10 fold. Go for it...you'll love it!

Question Port Matched....

I am still still running the stock Throttle Body on my truck...I am wondering if it is worth th money as well. Are the throttle bodies available from the Vendors "Port Matched"??? It would seem to me if you were running more boost, a port matched Single Blade Throttle Body would give ya around 10 horsepower instead of 4-5. Any thoughts? I am interested in mods that have bang for the buck..

The TB alone isnt as good as the T/b with other mods. So it works better with other mods like a airfilter kit. Trust me its worth the better throttle response. When i first put mine on with just my airraid the truck was shifting at 5500-5700 rpms like i had a chip.

Do it again in a second. They work best in conjuction with other mods. The more mods the bigger the benefit. You will need to do the port matching yourself do to the factory tolerances on the intake. Very easy to do. Improving the flow into the blower can yield some nice gains. All 99-02 stock T/B's are the same.

why a rabbit
Thats not just any rabbit. That is the unofficial mascot Lightning WABBIT.

As far as the TB question.I am sure it helped in the big picture. With all the other mods I did it is hard to tell.I would not do this as a beginning mod.It is by far not the biggest bang for your buck mod.
With that said.Do what I did and look for a used one.I saved a couple hundered dollars. Its not like they wear out.
