Can someone explain this to me
I broke #5 rod in mine, pulling up a relatively steep hill near where I live (its a nice place to check for detonation) I was on it hard and heard it detonate....I lifted.... and for some unknown reason I got back into it and about 2 seconds later it was broke.
Detonation broke the rod like it was a piece of glass.....all the spark plugs looked perfect, and they were the dreaded split fires. It simply didn't have time to melt the ends off of them I guess.
For what its worth, there is something else going on besides maxing out the MAF and it has to do with temperature. It was cold out the night I broke mine and from what I understand, I had at least 3 degrees more ignition timing than I thought I had, because it was cold out.
