Talking first drive in L, now dreaming...

I don't post too much on here but I have it set as my homepage and I read the boards every night. I got hooked on L's when my nextdoor neighbor's dad bought him one, him and I would drive around town in it, and even take it to the track. He let me drive it to dinner the other night and told me to floor it to see how I liked it.......MAN!!!!!! That thing moved!!!! He has a chip, filter, and cat-back. Anybody else got a cool story of their first drive in an L and how the power freaked em out? Anyway, just complimenting yall on your AWESOME taste in trucks!!!!! Soon as I can get enough money saved up I'll be one of you all......(already planning my mods )

yeah,,, sorry to say my story though,,, i took a silver L for a test drive and drove it out of the lot without even noticing that the parking break was still on,, the truck had so much power that it just drove right through ther parking break for a few blocks before i even noticed it,,,actually thats one of the things that sold me on the truck ( didn't buy the L from that dealer as i didn't want an L with a messed up parking break,,, but dont worry,, told my salesman and he took care of it,, wouldn't want to hurt another L you know)

My first drive was back in late 2000...........I test drove a '99, that they were selling at the time for $27,900 with 11K miles..........I was trying to trade in my Accord, but I was gettin' killed!!!

Anyway, I hadn't driven something this powerful in my entire life, and I scared the living crap out of the salesman!! I enjoyed my test drive to say the least..........I knew right then and there, that as soon as I had any kind of equity in my trade in, I'd be getting an L..........and sure as *****, a year later, I buy a brand new one, paying less per month than I would have on the used on a year earlier!! I get the last laugh!!!

Not yet...

I have yet to drive/ride in an L...as a matter of fact I saw the first one I have ever seen on Maine roads this weekend. The only other L's I have seen were at dealers. But, now my girlfriend wants one and I told her I would buy her (someday down the road) a red Firehawk after I sold my Camaro. I am thinking now that I may be able to trade my 97 F150 and buy one...hmmmm...hawk or lightning?? If I had my way, i'd take one of both!

I'm still waiting for my first ride. The closest I've come to that is changing a tire on my friends. I told him he owed me a ride after that.

My test drive was with a Ecuadorian salesman that spoke fluent English. When I nailed the go button and ran it up into third gear he was speaking in tounges. I ragged him about it for a long time and when I see him now, he damn sure remembers me!!!

The first time I drove an "L" was at the dealer. It had just rained, so the ground was wet. I guess I gave it too much gas... and spun the wheels there at the lot. The supervisor guy looked pissed, but the salesperson next me said "Just go"... so I did. I ended up buying that truck, so I don't think they were too mad.
Oh... when they asked what happened, I said that I wasn't sure how much gas to give it... that I wasn't used to it. The sales person pointed at my Z28, and well.... I guess they had me on that one. But I bought the truck.

lol, I read the boards here for a while b4 I bought mine. I went down to the dealership and went for a test drive with the salesmen in the car with me. He said he had never ridden in one before, and I said "neither have I, let's see what she's got!" Needless to say, good thing Ford put those oh chit handles in, cuz he sure put them to good use. When we were pulling up to the dealership it smelled sorta funny in the truck, I think he messed himself..
p.s. I didn't buy the smelly one

my first test drive was when i was looking at a new Lightning last summer. the salesman said that he hadd never been in one and wanted to see what all the talk was about. we went to the back of a huge parking lot and let her rip. i know for sure he almost wet himself and i came close too. when we turned around to exit the parking lot a chevy 1500 took off down the road. i actually got my first kill in a lightning before i owned a lightning. needless to say i was hooked and couldn't stop until i owned one...month and a half later i have Black 99 L

I didnt even test drive my lightning, the first time I drove it was off the lot after i bought it. I did get to ride in it when the salesperson moved it over from the other lot. It only had like 15miles on the odometer. It now has 13,000 and the only problem i had with it was an exhaust rattle. Since then I have been grinning like a fool.
