03 Snake
Just Ordered it.
Well I put the money down for a convertible '03 cobra today. The dealer is getting 10 of them in October and with my order 6 are spoken for. 45k for the coupe, 50k for the rag top. "A" plan is available on it and should knock about 5k off the list.

I spoke to my dealer the other day. They acted like the only way I could get the new SVTang would be to order one. They were reall fuzzy on what the cost would be and said they were only getting 4 copies due to the fact that they aren't selling much SVT product.
Told them I'd like to test drive the Cobra when they get one to compare to my L and they just laughed. I guess I'm funnier than I thought.
Funny attitude, considering the fact that all fifteen of the salespeople try to tackle me when I come in to get my '01 L serviced.

Here in Memphis one of the two SVT dealers is getting six 03 Cobras and all are sold with a $5000 nonrefundable deposit. I think the new Cobras are BAD A$$ but not for $5K extra. Wish I could get one but I guess I will just have to mod the HE!! out of the L.

Just a FYI......
Many people on the corral, and stangnet have ordered '03's at MSRP. The enthusiasts are not the ones who will pay over MSRP for these cars, as they realize there is always a dealer out there that will sell at MSRP, just like there are ones that will do A/X plans.
When we ordered our '01 Lightning in Nov of 2000, noone in Nev would sell AT MSRP. The cheapest we found in AZ was MSRP, and they wouldn't order us a truck. Finally found Drew Ford in San Diego. They will never sell ABOVE MSRP on anything.
You might want to talk to a fleet salesperson, as they work on volume, not profit per vehicle. You can usually get your best deals from them.

My bud I work with at the dealership has a 03 Cobra on order, dealer will honor D plan on it as they did my L and his Bullit. I personally think the car is sweet and is dying for a few upgrades
and I would imagine we'll be seeing 11 second Cobra's in the very near future. Personally I think a Mach 1 with an aftermarket supercharger would be the best for the strip, guess I'll have to drive both and form an opinion then wait til 0.9% financing like I have on my L (I can be a cheap bastard sometimes

If there are only between 10-20 thousand units produced, and are only available in '03, I'd wait until later in the year to acquire one. That way all or most of the quirks have been worked out and dealt with. I've had a guinnea pig vehicle once already. It was hell for awhile. Drove me nuts when the following year of it came out with barely any problems. There should be enough of them floating around someplace later on. Just have to know where to look. Just my $0.02
I'm cautiously optismistic on my chances of getting a '03 Cobra convertible on A plan. We have several SVT dealers in metro Atlanta area, and as long as I wait a while, one of them should be willing to deal. I always loved my '95 Mustang GT convertible. I would love to have it again. Black, of course...
my bro is getting the first red one our dealer will be getting and it will be at msrp. Oc welch in beufort s.c. for those who may be interested. we were told there already is a list to be on. and i believe it is a 500 bucks deposit refundable. im considering one of these beasts myself but not to replace the bolt.

before "A" plan.
