Where do I start with an 02 Lightning...
My lease on my F150 4x4 is ending in the next month and I'm going to purchase an 02 lightning. I've looked through the forums a few times but still have a few basic questions (I'm sure they have already been asked and answered)
1. I checked out the JDM and PSP websites and it seems I never see parts for 02 lightnings (everything seems to end with the 01 model year)
Can you get chips, etc.. for 02 lightnings? Will the 2001 chips work??
2. What does it really take to get an 02 Lightning in the 12s?
(+-12.90). I'm sure there are lots ways to get into the 12s, I'm kind of looking for thing that can be removed somewhat easily if needed (the truck will be new)
3. If I went with a PSP chip, PSP high flow filter, PSP+2 lower pully, Bassani cat back exhaust, boost mod. What kind of times do you think I could expect? I know there are a lot other factors that are going to affect the ET, just looking for a ball park
Sorry for the simple questions, but this forum seems to be the best place to get accurate answers!

I can answer a few of these...
I cant think of anything that will fit an 01 that wont fit an 02 except for chips.
PSP doesnt have 02 chips ready yet but JDM does. Im not sure about the others.
i havent done a chip/ pullie yet{but will very soon} but most on here seem to agree that that a chip and a #4 pullie will get you 12s pretty easy and some times a #2 will too.
As far as cat back exhaust goes, dont expect any power gain with one. the ford system is about as good as it gets. The aftermarket stuff just makes it sound a lot better. I recommend JDM's Silver Bullet catback. I have one and it sounds and looks really good, although Ive never heard an L with a Bassini.
Instead of buying an expensive filter system you can just cut the bottom out of your airbox and get the same effect, annd its free. A lot of people on here includeing me have done just that.
For the boost mod, just unplug the boost dump module and your done. Once again thats free. Or if you want, you can get the the parts at a parts store for a couple bucks and do it the same way the kit does it.
The chip is the one thing that,if you remove it the dealer can still tell it was there if they look, and that will most likely void your warante.

What Andy said.........
I had to add M/T ET Streets to my chip, filter, and 3 lb pulley to get into the 12s(12.882@106.18 for those that have forgotten-LOL) for my first time. I could not get my F1s(at my track) to hook as many others guys have been able to.

The first thing to do is the "Herb's Washers" and cambolt kit. The clunk gets old fast. There is a current thread, and lots of good info in search. I would also suggest to do some of the appearance mods, lowering mods, etc. The truck is fun to drive the way it is, and you may want to get the engine well broken in before you add on some power goodies

for few months.Start of with some good seat covers, bedrug is a must, a soft or hard bed cover if it doesn't come from factory with them. Replace the front door speakers.
