Hotchkis sway bar warning

Just disconnected my front sway for a little drag racing and found out that it was completely fronzen in place. I took the end liks off and could nor move the sway bar at all. Got home and took it apart and found that the assembly grease that Hotchkis supplied had bonded the bar to the bushings. Removed it and cleaned everything with a little brake clean. Used a teflon based grease to reasemble and now it moves like it should. My bars have been on for close to a year and this is the first time I had them apart. I have been noticing that the truck was riding very stiff lately. Not anymore. Check your bushings. Clean and re-lube them.

Whoa.

I had the same thing happen to me only it was a Saleen bar I put on a '91 Mustang GT. I thought it was a fluke or maybe something splashed up off the road or something. Wierd.

Thanks for the info.

I changed from the Hotchkis springs to the Roush springs a few weekends ago and also found that the front Hotchkis sway bar was stuck in place.

Lubed with a new(to me) product called "Sylglide". It is a silicon based light grease, bar rotates smoothly now. It did appear to help the handling, but I changed springs, so not sure of the total effect.

Just adding to the "me too" list.
