They say on their website that it works with a 99-01 L. I wonder why they don't have a 02 L listed and does anyone know if it will work on an 02?

update hypertech

i downloaded the newest version of acrobate reader 5.5 it allowed me to see the dyno results for a 01 L .
if what they say or advertise is true? i will go with the HYPERTECH 3 programer verses a chip , for the simple reason, you can set your computer to stock without any codes = warranty> will investigate a little more b-4 making the chip vereses programer decision. any more input out there??

i noticed on hypertechs dyno test for a 01 L it showed stock HP=311 @5500rpm with programer 3 program 339 hp
and torque @ 1250 rpm stock=272 and programer3 =312#s
Question why would they only go to 1250 RPM to test the torque??

Even better go to hypertechs site ?dyno charts download the new adobe 5.5 and compare a 2000 L and a 2001 L on the dyno results,HA they have things all mixed up, don't think i will go with the power prorammer after all= seems to be some false or incorrect or exajerated dyno results?

Probably because that is where you see the most gain with their product...

I linked to the Hypertech web site, and call at least 3 Pep Boys (they show that they sell the product), and the 3 Pep Boys do not know what is Hypertech. I will be calling the main number for Hypertech, and ask them why the show all the Pep Boys in my area selling their product, and they do not even heard about it. Also I did not see in the web site, if this product will work with a 2002 F-150, 5.4 Liter, I believe it will work only on a diesel engine

I have a totally opposite opinion about the programmers!

On my 96 vortec 350 I had a programmer/dual exhaust/thermostat and I ran 14.9s. Back in 96 that was unheard of.No many Lightnings with chips were running that.

My 99 5.3 vortec ran 14.6 (same as Lightning specs) with same ecact mods.I ran a new Lightning up to 128mph and it never left me.I stated behind and srayed behind but the same distance from 50mph to 128 where my truck shut off.Thats not bad!!

I also raced from a toll booth and stayed within a nose to 70 mph!

I think they really do work on GM products and had nothing but good luck every time Ive installed them BUT>>>>>>>>>>>>>AND THIS IS A BIG BUT!!.......................

ON LIGHTINGS<I saw someone with one and it only knocked off 2 tenths and brought times from 13.8 to 13.6 so it didnt do much. That was in summer of 99 though and 13.6 was pretty quick! I was one of the first people in the country to hit 12s and I WAS the first in new england.

I use one on my PSD, and it sucks. Im going to replace it soon with a micro tuner. All the Hypertech did was firm up my shifts. It didnt add any real noticable power gains. Its just a generic tuner. I would definatley advise againt getting anything from Hyper Tech, its just not that good.

Hypertech's programs will not get you the same type results that you would get by going with a chip from any of the "tuners", because they dont have to follow the rules. When they have the engineers at whoevers chip company they are using, make them a custom program, it will not be CARB certified and is stated as such on any custom program order form.

Don't be fooled into thinking that your "tuners" write their own programs, all they do is tell the engineers what they want changed within the program and then it is written for them by whoever it is they use.

Alot of it is smoke and mirrors my friends.

Nitro
do you think hypertech could make a program for the programer 3 that is not street legal if you requested one?
