K&N panel question?
I recently battled my dealer to fix my problem of the engine idiling rough and dying. Dealer states that the mass air flow sensor was gummed up with oil from my filter. Luckily I have a good relationship with my dealer and they replaced it under my extended warranty.

A minute amount of oil does migrate to the MAS filament.
Over time, a coating will form on the sensor, causing a rough idle.
The MAS miscalculates the airflow rate and you'll run richer.
After a filter re-charge is the more common occurance (people putting too much oil on.
The filament can, however, be cleaned, carefully using a Q-tip and contact cleaner.
