PowerStack Filter Install Question

LFP Kit ! Super Quality ! Goes together well, but noticed a thin gap of light between the MAF & the Aluminum Adapter. There is a stock ring gasket from the Stock Air Box, but it does not fit well.

Is there another gasket I am missing or is the thin Gap acceptable ? Need some quick advice !!

Thanks, Jon Lund

Jon

The thin gap is NOT acceptable! You dont want to pull in any unfiltered air!! Thin gap or not it doesnt take much to pull in alot of dirt (depending on where you drive esspecially).

Go out and buy some silicone sealant. Wipe a thin layer between the two parts and bolt them back together. Only costs about 3 bucks a tube at a hardware store. You can even get clear silicone. Thats what I did.

I don' know about using silicone, I may be wrong, but I seem to remember a thread a year or two back that silicone goofs up the maf. Maybe someone can shed more light on the subject. Again, I may be way off base on this, but it just seems that I recall some discussion on this subject. Try the search with silicone as the keyword maybe..??https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ilicone+sensor Correction, right church, wrong pew. Has to do with O2 sensor

If your worried about the silicone, just wait until it completely cures before you put the MAF back on. I've never had any problems.

Either use sensor-safe silicone or make your own gasket out of a sheet of gasket material from most auto parts store. Took me about 20 minutes to make one for my JDM filter adapter.
